Dr. Samuel M Rapoport, MD

I’m writing this review as the son of a patient who recently visited this neurologist, and I’m deeply disappointed by the experience. My mother, who is elderly and facing serious health concerns, was only allowed to have three people in the room with her during the appointment. I was told I could not be present. What makes this especially troubling is that the doctor chose to deliver serious, emotionally difficult news without me in the room. My mother had to receive life-changing information without the comfort and support of her son. It was not only insensitive but felt completely unnecessary. There was no attempt to accommodate the emotional needs of the patient or our family. This showed a complete lack of empathy and understanding of how important family presence is during moments like these. I expected professionalism and compassion—what we got was clinical coldness and an unwillingness to be flexible in a time of distress. I would not recommend this neurologist to families… seeking care that takes into account the emotional and psychological well-being of both the patient and their loved ones.

I echo another review when I say I have never had a more thorough examination. He asked many questions, encouraged me to share anything we hadn’t covered, and took copious notes. When I left, I felt a great sense of comfort knowing I was in the hands of a highly intelligent professional.

The exam my dad received was extremely thorough. Dr Rapapport was attentive, interested and helpful. I would recommend him to anyone. He spends time with the patient and takes the time to listen to what you have to say.

Dr. Rapoport has the bedside manner of a ghoul, but in my 69 years, I have never received such a thorough physical exam from any doctor; nor so complete a two-page, single-spaced typed visit report; nor a 16-hour turnaround on a major test report. He works incredibly hard, and I only saw him smile once in three visits. He is a good listener, but I suspect he thinks he knows better. And he probably does. Go for thorough care, not big laughs.

i waited an hour and 45 minutes. no explanation or apology. When I asked if that was what one can normally expect, he told me that he works hard and if I don';t like it I don't have to come back. I won't.

My visit to Dr Rapoport was unpleasant.He was a "cold fish"and didn't give a good exam ,only a pain medication.His secretary was just as unwelcoming.After the visit,friends told me they had the same experience.I will not return

I loved the visit with Dr. Rapoport. I am 65 yo and it had been 42 years since I had such a great exerience with a doctor. Very gentle, very thorough visit and very careful listener. I wish all doctors would be as competent and attentive as he is.

Very rude and dismissive - he needs a new profession.

My mom had possible 3rd nerve palsy. Took her to see him. I was worried about a brain tumor vs something else - all scary stuff. I had stepped out to put quarters in the meter. The doctor, without even introducing himself or me, told me the exam room was too small to please wait outside. My dad was allowed in the room with her. There was no one else in the office, my mom was his last patient. He seemed quite dismissive and didn't seem to notice. He had not begun the physical exam (I could understand the need for privacy) and was merely asking questions. His manner was quite harsh and dismissive.
