Dr. Samuel Harris Wittenberg, MD

Dr. Samuel H Wittenberg in my opinion (as high school educator for 5 decades) has the following characteristics: (a) Excellent knowledge due his experiences working in the medical field for an extensive period of time. (b) Basically his test results will confirm the patients diagnosis and (c) A confirmation + Dr Wittenberg medical knowledge will conclude the correct treatment for the patient. Finally, this will be discussed with the patient for his/ her complete understanding of the diagnosis . PATIENT FIRST is priviledge to have this caliber of expertise!

A very arrogant doctor and think too highly doesn’t know on how to acknowledge patien t

I have been a patient of Dr. Wittenberg's for over 15 years. He has always treated me with respect and sensitivity, and taken the time to listen to, and address all my questions and concerns. I feel safe in his care, and couldn't ask for a better doctor!

Extremly long wait times with no acknowledgement of wait time, apolgy or reason given. Smug and arrogant demeanor of Doctor. Absolutly no comfort level in ability to ask clarifying questions regarding ambigous diagnosis. Follow up number given with no instruction on who to ask for.

Dr. Wittenberg has been our family doctor for years (15+) thankfully for the majority of that time our family was in good health. However, as serious health issues began to arise one after another wrong diagnosis were given sending us in complete opposite direction of rectify illnesses. Classic signs were presented to him that other doctors easily recognized which he failed to see extending the length of my families illnesses.

Dr. Wittenberg is totally thorough in his examination and has a kind and caring demeanor. He seems to be very smart and extremely hard working. I would highly recommend him. I have had to wait in the waiting room for longer than I would like sometimes, but that is Sentara's issue, not his.

After years of visiting Wittenberg with complete health, I went to him when I did suspect an illness. He misdiagnosed the symptons leaving me exposed while waiting on lab results.
