Dr. Sandra Lynn Goines, DO

I was very happy with Dr. Goines. I have a lot of issues. She listened to everything I had to say. She stayed focus on immediate issues I felt like I was talking to a friend. The staff in other reviews are said to not be friendly. They just have serious looks that can be interpreted as being unfriendly. Staff answered all my questions, and I had lots of them. They thoroughly answered them. I am very happy to be a patient here.

If you have a history of addiction or Hepatitis C, then this doctor is not for you. I had a horrible experience and felt like I was being interrogated about how I got Hepatitis C. As an RN, I have seen how awful patients with a history of addiction can be treated and it has not been any different being a healthcare professional myself. No one should have to feel like they need to lie in order to get good and appropriate care. Now I am scared to share about my past and the fact I have Hepatitis C with any doctor I come into contact with. I didn't commit a crime, harm anyone, or ever put anyone at risk. I am the same as everyone else and deserve to be treated as so. If you don't think that addiction and drug abuse is prevalent in the medical care system by doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, you are mistaken. I am not saying that Dr. Goines or the doctors she trains are on drugs, but they certainly don't have any compassion for those of us who have a history of addiction… or Hepatitis C. And if you think you will be able to see Dr. Goines after your first visit, you are wrong. I only saw her once and that was it. After that, I was seen by 3 different doctors whom she is training. Not only does this present a problem with consistent care, it also makes it very difficult to feel you are getting good care. I went in crying in pain this last time with a blood pressure of 170/100 and was told I could not even get a muscle relaxer. I denied any pain medication, instead choosing to maybe try a muscle relaxer along with the steroid I was being given. You would think I asked for Oxycontin with endless refills. I have been clean and sober for over a decade and still cannot get caring treatment from any doctor.

Dr. Goines was fine. She listens but doesn't ask many questions. She had no real answers for my chronic back issues other than recommending treatments she does in her office which are extremely expensive and not covered by my insurance - so not really helpful. Her overall practice would benefit greatly from getting a new staff. THEY LACK PROFESSIONALISM AND ANY SEMBLANCE OF COURTESY. I asked them to submit a request for records from a specialist I had seen prior to coming to Dr. Goines - that was two years ago and it has still not been followed up on. Furthermore, the staff has been extremely rude to my partner, twice hanging up on her - seriously, hanging up on her. The worst!!!!!

It is almost impossible to get an appointment. In the last 6 months I have tried twice to get an appointment and was told I would have to wait two and a half to three weeks for the next opening. I think that's pretty ridiculous. I will be finding a new doctor.

Do not go here! The Dr is great, but her or her staffs follow-through is terrible. I've left several messages before and have to baby-sit it over and over until I get a call, if I ever get a call. They say they will fax orders and don't. I needed to talk to the Dr about my mom, and they refused saying it would take "days" for her to call me back. They were right. It took a week. If you want a Dr that you can get ahold of and get a partnership going with, this is not the place.

I do not feel that Dr. Goines is very knowledgeable about medicine. I would not recommend her to any of my family or friends.
