Dr. Sandra Jean Hufsmith, MD

I would highly recommend Dr. Huffsmith. I found both her and her staff members to be very friendly and professional. They made me feel very comfortable both in the waiting room and the exam room. I felt like Dr. Huffsmith did an excellent job, after a thorough examination, of explaining her findings to me and making sure that I understood and that I didn't have any questions before I left her office.

Very friendly and personable doctor, who is also willing to encourage healthy lifestyle habits. I have been seeing her for many years for annual eye exams for Type 1 diabetes. Would highly recommend!

Dr. Hufsmith was rude, impatient, deceiving, and ill-tempered. I went in for a small bubble on my eye. She never smiled, never made me feel welcome-more like an inconvenience. She told me what it was and said I could leave it or she could break it open, no big deal. I was nervous for this irritated woman to poke at my eye but I agreed that if it wasn't a big deal than it would be fine. Five minutes later, I was done. The receptionists said there was nothing to pay but my co-pay, so I left. Two weeks later I received a bill saying I was responsible for the full price of the "SURGERY!" There was no surgery! I spent 15 minutes total in her office. No one told me I was having "surgery." When I called the office the billing person apologized for the lack of communication between the doctor and the front desk (and that it happened often) but there was nothing she could do and she'd make sure the next patients were aware of when they were having a surgery done. I asked to have the Dr.… Hufsmith call me back, instead she emailed me stating that it was my responsibility to know what my insurance covers. Seems like it was someone's responsibility to inform me that a surgery was going to be performed.
