Dr. Sarah A Barber, DO

I love Dr. Barber- I’m so sad she’s no longer at Union hospital and am hoping to find where she ends up soon. She is so laid back, but honest. Has a great sense of humor and made me and my family feel very comfortable. My first pregnancy was rocky, but she provided me with wonderful care and ensured the safety of me and my baby. She was very cautious my second pregnancy and I was able to deliver a full term healthy baby. My husband and I cannot imagine having any other doctor handle our care.

My mom recommended her when I got pregnant at 19 because she went to my mom's church. Was very judgemental of my situation. When asking if I had a pediatrician for the baby I told her I hadn't talked to the father yet and she asked me "is he carrying the baby?" Was very annoyed when I wanted my mom in the room with me. Told me I would die if I didn't get the flu shot wholeness pregnant. Left me crying in her office many times due to the anxiety she gave me. Rushed my delivery and ended up giving me a c section so that she could go home. Then told me that I HAD to take birth control because I can't have another baby in my situation (not married) or age. Doctor, staff had terrible manners. Horrible experience. I will never go back or recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Barber is very knowledgeable and very laid back. She is very nice and always asks if you have questions. I was a high risk pregnancy and she delivered my baby boy and never once made me feel worried.

Do not go to this doctor!! Her staff is horrible and she was discussing how she would rather be a vet than a doctor because animals would be better. I was mortified! She told my husband and I that we needed to stop having babies and I needed a hysterectomy. When we told her we wanted a second opinion she started crying! She said she felt like she couldn't trust us now because we didn't trust her. It was just one of the many bizarre things that she did. Now a couple years later I found a REAL OBGYN and I was able to have my beautiful daughter AND not have to have a hysterectomy ! It's mortifying that a "doctor" like this is still in practice! If you are feeling uneasy with Sarah Barber or her very rude staff, you are not alone! Write a complaint to the hospital board and let's make a change.

After conflicting information from the staff, and Dr. Barber not being concerned with my opinion, I think I will start over with another gyne.

Where do I even start? Found out I was pregnant. I only went to her because my husband wanted me to. Did not like her sarcasm...ever. The whole experience was unprofessional. Made me pee in a cup EVERY time. I don't even smoke cigarettes and she wanted to check it. Cancelled my 37 and 38 week appointments. I didn't want a c section but got one after 7cm. Didn't even ask me. Just had to go go go. Prescribed Zoloft and then shuffles me all over the place bc she wouldn't ween me off. So I reached out to community mental health. FINALLY saw someone who understood me, I'm being weened off and changing birth control. The receptionist and biller Rhonda is rude. Dr Barber kept saying I was gonna have a BIG baby. She was 7# at birth.

I saw Dr. Barber for a little over 2 years, at first her and her staff was great. As time went on, she became rude and judgmental of my life choices. I wasn't doing anything to harm myself, just wanted to expand my family. She soon became rushed in appointments and tried to persuade me in things I did not want, so she would tell me I was crazy for not wanting what she wanted. I ended up becoming pregnant, started spotting and her staffs response to my phone call was "what do you want us to do about it". My pregnancy ended in miscarriage and her nor her staff had anything comforting to say. At my last appointment, I could hear her talking with her staff about what patients she hates. The walls are so thin, you can hear everything that goes on outside of the rooms. The only recommendation I have when it comes to this doctor, is to run. Don't waste your time on someone who is going to belittle you for expressing any concern.

Horrible!!! Very rude and unproffesional doesn't care about patients at all. Would NOT reccomend to anyone!!

Absolutely terrible.. had a severe UTI I was told to follow up and they wouldn't take me I've been a patient there for 3 years. I would not recommend to anyone. I also I needed my birth control and they wouldn't see me for that either. The staff is also so rude. Especially the receptionist.

I found Dr. Barber to be exceptionally patient. She took the time I needed to explain things so I could understand them. She was friendly and funny. I can honestly say that I have always HATED going to the gyno but I actually found my appointment with her to be pleasant. I feel relieved to have finally found a doctor that I feel comfortable with.
