Dr Sarah L Everakes

I saw Dr. Everakes 3 weeks ago for the first time. I must say I've been suffering with chronic pain over 7 years and she asked me many questions, listened to my concerns, and treated me with compassion and was very informative. I am looking forward to my second visit. I was happy and relieved after my visit. Marisol ??

I went to Dr. Everakes after I read her profile on the Rush website. It made her seem like the perfect fit for someone looking for an empathetic rheumatologist. It's already hard enough finding someone who takes your chronic pain and other symptoms seriously, so when she barely talked to me and gave me a 30 second physical at my first visit, failed to mention elevated markers in blood work that she only mentioned as potentially problematic once I inquired about it, told me that itching isn't something she sees in fibro patients (even WebMD lists it as a common symptom) so I should just see a dermatologist, and didn't bother to re-weigh me when her staff wrote my weight down incorrectly as 10 pounds HIGHER than what it was supposed to be (I've lost a significant amount of weight over the last year or so, so this is an important thing to get right), imagine my horror! I will be finding a new doctor, and I hope she takes some courses or something because she seems very uninformed.

I was disappointed that I drove an hour to see Dr. Everakes just for her to tell me that fibromyalgia is not disabling. Fibromyalgia completely changed my life and limits my every day activities. I'm in pain 24/7 and can't do things I used to and here this doctor is trying to tell me it is NOT disabiling. I lost respect as soon as she said that. I will not be going back to her. She didn't offer up any new ideas/medications/Or treatments. It was a waste of time.

This was my second appointment with the doctor. I was asked to come back in a month as the doctor would be on vacation. She told me she would review my x-rays and labs and discuss with me. It was obvious the she had done neither before walking in the room. She lacks warmth and a bed-side manner. She made little eye contact with me and typed on the computer. She told me to call in a week to make sure she looked at the X-ray. This doctor was highly recommended by my PCP. I will continue to follow-up despite her lack of empathy.

Dr.Sarah Everakes is great! Dr.Everakes is professional yet personable and friendly, she listens, and communicates well. She understands her patients. I highly recommend this doctor.
