I'll never go to Medstar again after the disrespectful treatment by NP Sarah King, and I hope Medstar reads this review and takes disciplinary action against such a rude and unprofessional individual. I've had chronic sinus infections for years for which I've had surgery and seen doctors and ENTs. After about a week of symptoms, I went to Medstar and NP King was confrontational and disrespectful from the moment the appointment started, walking in and saying, "So you have a cold." I tried to give her my symptoms and medical history but she refused to listen or let me finish. She gave a cursory examination and said "bacterial infections don't happen" until at least ten days after symptoms. I tried to again explain my medical history and she said she "didn't care if my PCP gave me antibiotics after 3 days" but that I'd been diagnosed my "entire life." She said "Google it yourself" and stormed out without listening to me at all. I asked to see her again and explained calmly that I… felt very disrespected. She became even MORE confrontational and said that she didn't like when patients "walked in like they knew everything and told her how to do her job when she was the one who went to school." I did NOTHING of the sort- I was trying to give her my symptoms and medical history and she refused to listen. She kept going on said that her supervisors were breathing down her neck about antibiotics and she was very stressed and tired because she had forty patients. She finally apologized after I continued to press her and said that she should treat patients better. This is the single most disrespectful, rude, and unprofessional interaction I've ever had with a medical professional. MedStar, if you're reading this, maybe you should talk to Sarah King, because if she can't handle the stress of her job without immediately jumping down a patient's throat the moment she walks into a room, maybe she isn't cut out to work there or to be a nurse at all.
