Dr. Sarah Morgan Schrauben, MD

My family has been working with Dr. Schrauben for about 2 years. Our son has autism and had seen several doctors before seeing her, and she has really impressed us with her kindness and patience with him. Other doctors just threw medications at our son and not even try to talk to him. She always makes a point to talk to him, even if he's having a bad day. With the medications, she always explains our options and how she thought it might help. I'm also impressed by how quickly she responds to our messages. I've recommended her to other parents we know who have children with autism at our son's school.

We worked with this doctor for almost a year, until a situation she put us in, lead us to change providers. This doctor had the opportunity to be an advocate for our child, she gave us a recommendation for his care, which we followed, then did a complete 180 on her advice after we had committed to her recommendation. This caused great grief and distress to our family. She based this reversal without any effort or due diligence, without utilizing any resources with other specialists which offered professional consultation in order to educate herself. She tried justifying her rationale with illegitimate and factless reasons, which ultimately put her patient, our child at greater risk. Thankfully, we were supported by others from our child's medical team, with a very successful outcome. We do not recommend this doctor if you hope for someone to go to the lengths to be an advocate for your child. A position we believe great doctors live up to, Schrauben does not.

She really helped our son with ADHD and got him on meds that helped him do better in school than we thought he would ever be able to do.
