Takes trouble to /interview/ me instead of simple med-checks. Charges insurance accordingly, but worth it!

Dr. Chandragiri is a top notch professional. He embodies the qualities of a very patient friend. There is never the need to hurry through an appointment. He is very caring, listens well and reflects on what is shared and acts on both empathy and intuition.

Dr. Chandragiri does not do 10-minute "med-checks". He speaks with me for most of an hour each time I see him. He incorporates my whole health picture into my care, including how well I sleep, exercise, and nourish myself. He's very thorough and caring.

I live in a small community where Dr. C travels a few times a year to meet with clients. I only met with him once, so I have to also entertain the idea that he was feeling very rushed and very busy., Nonetheless, here are my opinions of the meeting. I felt like he was reciting a textbook about medical disorders to me while looking over my head and out the window. it was obvious that he did not consider me a individual person and was relying on the notes that documented my behaviors also written by a male that severely lacks in compassion. but that is another story altogehter. The highlight of the meeting was when he insisted on calling my father when I told him that my parents wanted me to go on medication and were insisting on paying for it. Apparently he did not believe me, so he went ahead and called my father, at work, on the speakerphone with me sitting a foot away. My favorite part was when he asked my father if we had any fire arms and to make sure that they were locked up, b/c… bipolar patients like to commit suicide. He acted like I was completely incompetent of hearing what he was saying and obviously in need of some help. The clincher was that there is NO DOCUMENTAION WHATSOEVER of me having ANY thoughts of suicide. So, either he is comeletely lacking of any compassion, as an individual or a male or a doctor, or he thought that everyone has the same exact symptoms and thoughts as the medical books he read at HARVARD told him. Either way, when I talk to him, the tables will be turned, and I will ask him why he is so lacking in compassion, and perhaps he is in the wrong profession. But, ofcourse, I have been diagnosed with bipolar, and obviously a mental crazy person. Suck it.
