Dr. Scott Michael Anfinson, MD

I called Dr. Anfinson's office as a new patient with flashes and floaters. I was scheduled within 24 hours. My retinal tear was diagnosed quickly and treated immediately. I can't thank Dr. Anfinson and his staff enough for the quality of care I received there. Mark Snyder, OD

I was a patient for 9 months. I had a retinal pucker, which he treated ONLY with constant eye drops. With the problem getting worse, and no real game plan from him, I decided to see another retina specialist. Glad I did. Found out the ONLY long-term solution was surgery, which I had w/another specialist. Had I stayed with Anfinson, I'd still be getting drops and having to pay for constant office visits, with no actual solution. Office staff is also clueless--could not explain a simple question I had about a bill. Instead, I was told to talk to the insurance company, which did not issue the bill and which bills only what the doctor's office tells it to bill. This guy does not inspire any confidence. Go elsewhere if you want appropriate, timely care and do not want to pay for constant office visits that do nothing but fatten the doctor's wallet.

Extremely impressed with visit start to finish!

I had a detached retina. I was treated routinely despite a history of having problems. I seemed to stump him and after being cleared for travel found successful emergency help in Chicago! The office visits felt like an assembly line and he had limited time for questions. Staff is friendly not our Chicago experience was outstanding & impressive in comparison. Disappointing that I lost most of the summer to this when it could have been resolved with a proper assessment, treatment and follow up.

I have been seeing Dr A. for over 2 years now for Iritis. He is the only specialist in my area unless I want to travel 2 1/2 hrs to Charleston. My only complaint is that it takes a long time to actually see the doctor. I get in quickly but it is like a "Mill", go in get your vision checked, go over history with tech, then be placed in another waiting room for 20+ minutes. Then finally see see him. Which he spends an average of 5 minutes with me. Average time from walk in to leaving is over an hour. insane
