Dr. Scott Martin Ciaccia, DO

Initial and follow up appointments were very good, in that Dr. Ciaccia explained the injuries and the surgical approach of each of the five digits. I did not find him to be arrogant or in a rush. As I was having the after surgery occupational therapy in the same building, he contacted the therapist doing the OC therapy and she came down and he went over the injuries with her. As I stated above, the follow-up appointments with Dr. Ciaccia were very good as he didn't sugar coat the injuries nor the final outcome as to hand usage. The bottom line is that I am able to use my left hand. Yes, I would recommend Dr. Scott Ciaccia for hand surgery.

I was astounded by the reviews I was reading, I was tested with emg by my neurologist and found to have carpal tunnel syndrome. I asked my orthopedic Dr and was referred to Dr ciaccia. From first meeting and thorough explanation of the procedure and likely outcomes decided to have surgery. From the office staff, hospital staff, at both Mercy Lorain and St John's westshore to the Dr and his PA, could not ask for any better care. He did right hand and two weeks later the left and within days able to feel and do alot. He had to slow me down on the second surgery to give a little more healing time with stitches in 5 weeks post first and 3 weeks after second I a.VERY pleased with all aspects of surgery. Mine was done through his Sheffield township office and want to compliment him and this entire staff.

I am so shocked by the comments of him being arrogant or dismissive! I didn't feel that way at ALL! In fact, I feel very grateful to have had Dr. Ciaccia as my hand surgeon. He took great care to explain every detail along the way, drawing pictures on a notepad, explaining things with metaphors, and showing my on my xrays where my fracture was so I could understand. I once fired off 12 (counted them) questions in ONE visit and he answered every single one, thoroughly. He knew when to be serious and when to be personable. For example, in my first visit, he sure didn't mince words when he told me the severity of the injury or what forgoing surgery could potentially ruin for me in the long run. At the same time, he was comforting. I felt like he checked in on my physical well-being with my hand, but also made sure to check in on the emotional distress that being without a hand causes. After we made progress, he high fived, smiled, and was a pleasant doctor all around. I'd highly recommend… him! I felt that he was very talented and knowledgeable and at the same time, he was a great person!

Bedside manner is great, shows respect for me as a person, and listens to me for my concerns and questions. He was able to alleviate pain in my wrist, which I have had for a few years.

Had finger amputation. Saw the doctor for 4 months. Always short kind of arrogant . Had a second surgery for carpal tunnel and a fingernail removal. He did the surgery before it was approved by workman's compensation. Then never filed my medco 14 case was closed. I wasn't going to be able to get paid. I received a letter from BWC stating they got my c-84 never got his medco 14. With the letter was a medco 14 telling me to give it to him and make sure it is filled out. When I asked him to do this in his office he waved his arm at me and told me he didn't care . I told him I did . He again told me he didn't care. I left by the time I got home I received a call the he released me to work full duty. I would say to get back at me for asking a simple question. Wouldn't refer anyone to this guy. Think he came to Ohio for a reason!!!!

Arrogant, in a hurry, kept me waiting over an hour each time, no eye contact, full of self importance and dismissive, would never go back

Dr Ciacia missed my first appointment, was late for a second and disregarded all information brought to him from other doctor's. He implied that he was all knowing and every other Physician was wrong as well as I, the patient who had the complaint, one that had been ongoing for four years. He implied I was suffering from delusions for attention. I found him arrogant and rude, and have since undergone a biopsy none of the other physicians thought needed, to prove that, indeed, the wart all others saw was real. The painful biopsy of the wart proved that the wart was indeed a wart disproving his arrogant and rude dismissal of both myself and his fellow medical professionals. He lacked the attitude and good manners one should expect of a professional.

Excellent care from Dr Ciaccia and his staff. Scheduled another appointment and procedure worked, nothing further was needed.

hard to schedule an appointment, 1st one got cancelled while sat in waiting room - had already filled out my forms. He got called to emergency in Hospital. finally 3 months later he told had disappointing visit. treated as if the issue was something else, only to find out it was NOTwhat he thought it was, nor did his treatment help. OH well, just live with it was pretty much what he said. No explanation of what it might be.
