He fired me from his practice the day before I was supposed to have surgery without telling me why. I had been in the hospital for 5 days earlier that month because of the pain I was in. He was on vacation and another doctor in his office took care of me. The hospital discharged me because I couldn’t take the pain to lay in the MRI. I had to find a different surgeon. It turns out a disc had ruptured in my neck between C5 and C6. I ended up with all of my neck fused but the top two vertebrae. Shame on you, Dr. Dull. Your last name describes the care I received from you and your associates.

In 2013 we were terrified to learn our adult daughter had Chiari. Dr Dull let us know that there is a surgery that can help so very quickly we had surgery. Care during surgery was very good and hospital stay was as well. However shortly there was infection after infection then 3 months later another surgery to open her brain again to see what was wrong. Just a form of staff so he closed he back up referred us to an immunologist that doesn't have an office we could never get in to see. Then she began having pain and balance issues again with severe episodes that only a trip to ER for extreme meds would help he told us she was a conundrum because she was cured. She must be depressed, have sleep apnea, or just be drug seeking. He released her from his care. I had even researched and brought him other conditions with the same symptoms asking if these could be the problems only to be quickly dismissed. We searched for three years and finally got her in with a true Chiari specialist out of… state who did simple tests to determine she also had POTS and EDS with upper brain stem compression. After a revision surgery he also told us that the 4th ventrical in her brain was almost completely closed due to adheashions. Dr dull never checked her cSF flow. The EDS was the reason for the second surgery Dr Dull had to perform because of the way her skin reacts to the healing process. So we continue to follow up with our specialist. Fast forward to today. Same daughter had an accident where she was pushed into a wall and hit her head. Rushed to the ER then ICU where she had partial paralysis on her left side and total paralysis on her right side. It was the weekend and dr Rapacki ( An Associate) was on call. He was very to the point, ordered very detailed testing, and did come in daily. He never asked why we sought help at another Neurosurgeon out of state only stated that he knew the new surgeon. He also never gave us a test result only heard from other doctors what the next steps will be. Finally, was told Dr Dull would be back on Monday morning. As the swelling decreased my daughter was able to walk again with physical therapists and was released Tuesday afternoon under the care of the trauma team with no follow up or info from Dr Dull or his office.

DR Dull is a very caring and compassionate physician. He made sure I had all the necessary tests and then suggested I do physical therapy first before opting for surgery, unlike my first doctors opinion which was to rush me right in to surgery. I appreciated that he listened to my concerns and wants me to try therapy first. My sister has already had surgery by him and he corrected a serious previous surgery which had been done by another local surgeon who had since then had his license revoked. I trust this man because he is honest and a brain surgeon so when I do have surgery and I probably will, Dr Scott Dull will be my choice!

I would recommend this neurosurgeon to anyone contemplating back surgery. He is a true professional.

First visit was like he was reading from a script. Came in to office for appt wearing his outdoor jacket. Made promises to manage pain medication I was currently taking into the discharge plan for pain management after a full disc replacement and fusion. Left the Hospital with a prescription that wasn't stong enough to even preventing me from going in to full opiate withdraw. made no attempts at resolving sitiuation. He wanted primary care Doctor to manage pain medication. My wife and I during initial consult brought this up as a topic of concern. He said he would take my previos use of Opiates in consideration and make adjustments accordingly. He now acts if the conversation never happen even though he has a complete list of my current medication two months ahead of time and continued their use during my hospital stay. YOU cant even talk to him, a staff just follows orders. He acts as this is no big deal. This was a primary concern going into the operation was post surgery management… of pain medicine. My primary care Physician is so mad, he feels the doctor who accepts the referel and was fully aware I was on pain medicine is responsable for after care. I agree. It's getting to a point you need everything in writing. I'm now trying to learn to situp and walk again while going through withdraw. Be aware and was very cautious and thought I had all my ducks in a row. With a shortage of Doctors they don't have to show compashion, it's their way or the highway.
