I have finally come to the conclusion even if it's Stanford Medical center believed to be one of the best medical centers in the entire country. Four of their top physicians completely misdiagnosed my physical injury and when they couldn't find it quick. Either didn't know the answer or blamed the patient. The worst offender of all is Dr. Pritzlaff. I have had a hip condition that was effecting every movement it was coming down to almost bone on bone. I am from another state and had heard from a friend that Dr. Pritzlaff is not only a good pain doctor he would help find the problem. This was not the case however. I decided to see him in Oct. 2017 and finally gave up in May of 2018. When I met Dr. Pritzlaff he was cold and indifferent and instantly tried say all I needed was physical therapy. I had told him I had done P.T. for a year previously and the hip pain was not only worse it was now clicking and popping. He didn't believe me. I asked him to help me manage my pain my pain at time… was at a 9 or 10 on a pain scale I couldn't work at times and definitely drive. I had to have my mom who's almost legally blind help me drive five hours to Stanford once a month. I wasted time, money and a lot of gas. Every time I saw Dr. Pritzlaff I told him the pain was getting worse. He rolled his eyes, looked at my MRI and said you are to young for a hip replacement and you don't need one. All you need is more P.T. in Emeryville, CA three times a week. Well, after that I knew he didn't know what was wrong and didn't want to help me. I looked around my local are finally found a doctor who looked at my MRI and his question was, why didn't Stanford help you with pain and get you in for a hip replacement ASAP. I said I can't believe it either. I simply think due to the fact there wasn't an easy answer they just didn't care about it. I had a completely hip replacement in Dec. 2018. My hip is doing well. No longer clicks or pops. I am in P.T. and they are fantastic. I told them recently my hip was tightening again. The P.T. and the surgeon got together and informed me due to all the previous damage and doctors not doing anything to help you they believe I formed Illiopsoas tendinitis which probably happened with all the limping the progression of damage and now that a proper replacement has been done. It's a residual issue which can be addressed with injections. Dr. Pritzlaff shamed me for being in pain and frankly didn't care at all. Seeing him was a complete waste of money, time and made me feel worse. Avoid at all costs.
