He reads from the computer the whole time. He "remembers" things that you told him previously when he is just reading it from the screen. Robotic appointments, predictable. After 16 years, I need a doctor who has a much better demeanor.

The few times I had an emergency, he took me within a few minutes. Every appointment the wait to see him is less than 5 minutes. He runs a very efficient office. When I ask for him to call me, he returns the call within a few minutes. Every visit he goes over all my possible symptoms and fine tunes his diagnosis and prescriptions accordingly. Because of his care in interest in my well being, I have successfully lowered my blood pressure, cholesterol, and sugar levels to acceptable levels. Yes it is true he talks in a low voice, but he is always to repeat anything I ask him to. He will explain anything you ask as well. All my previous internists from other practices were outspoken but failed to treat my high blood pressure, made patients wait up to 3 hours at a scheduled appointment, didn't return phone calls, and treated patients like a clinic would, Dr. Shapiro, on the other hand, values each patient and gives personalized helpful care. He is a brilliant physician and will take… excellent care of you for sure!

When a doctor takes an oath he should follow it, this doctor could care less and is not well spoken. Avoids eye contact and as the other reviewer said mumbles. Found another doctor who cares and talks to you face to face not looking at the floor

Totally miss diagnosed and thought patient had dementia.

Dr. Shapiro may be well educated, but has very poor communications skills, mumbles and is often unresponsive to questions and seems not to care very much about you. he is poor in returning phone calls and does not follow up with his staff. In my case, test results that should have taken 24 hours took a week and he didn't even apologize for worrying me for that long. I would not recommend him.
