Wish we'd found him years ago.

Very unhappy with Dr. Sicherer! Took my daughter in for a milk challenge which I had to wait for an appointment over 4 months. He was very condescending and did not listen to my concerns! He threatened not to do the milk challenge after I expressed my concerns over past allergic reactions. He told me that she probably had a "syndrome" but when I asked him how to spell it, he could not and was upset that I asked him! I asked the food challenge nurse for a copy of the report that they were going to send to my pediatrician and was told I couldn't have it! Asked the doctor if I needed to follow up with him, and he abruptly said no I had to follow up with my pediatrician! Don't waste your time.

Dr. Sicherer is THE person to see if your child has many or complicated allergies. He is very smart, very talented, possesses amazing attention to detail, which is critical in all medicine, but especially so when dealing with kids and allergies. Returns phone calls quickly. All business. Not the most personable, but by no means unpleasant or condescending.

Going to see Dr. Sicherer is NOT fun -- it a teaching hospital and you see him, his staff, nurses, etc. It's a long and stressful visit-- but if your child has many food allergies or some unexplained issues regarding allergies or asthma, he is THE GUY TO SEE. He is leading the field, does a ton of research, and really, really knows his stuff. If he says something you can believe it, which in this ever-changing field is very welcome. That said, if your kid just has say one allergy or a mild asthma condition, your ped may be able to handle it just as well.
