Dr. Scott Alden Smith, MD

Dr.Smith performed hardware removal surgery for me September 2025. I sprained the same ankle two months later. I saw Dr. Smith in December. He stated that I needed time to heal from the sprain and to return if it wasn’t better by January-February. We moved so I waited until 7/3/26…giving more than enough time for my foot to heal. I saw him yesterday and now he says it could take a year to heal and did absolutely nothing for me. The swelling is so bad that I’m getting bruises and sores from the top of my Hey Dudes that are already a size bigger than I normally wear. He’s a bait doctor for sure. Give you hope just to get you to keep coming back so he can charge you as many times as possible before the patient has enough sense to go to a real doctor to get help. Don’t waste your money and accept a lesser value of life because of this man!!

Exceptional orthopedic surgeon! Took the time to completely diagnose and test for an accurate assessment and was through in reviewing options. Years of knowledge and experience ! Highly recommended !

Dr. Smith has been my doctor for over 30 years and he is knowledgeable, has patience and is very honest. He does not rush into surgery. I have found that all the doctors at Texas Orthopedic’s have been excellent. They all specialize in their own fields. I like that!

I've been a patient of Dr. Smith's (and other doctors at Texas Orthopedics) for quite some time. This visit was not quite up to par with past visits. I arrived early for my appointment. I stood for at least 5-8 minutes just waiting to be checked in. There was only 1 person at the front and she was on the phone. After being called back, the assistant took my info and cause for the visit. She also ordered x-rays. The technician came within 5 minutes to do the x-rays. I then went back to the room where I waited for at least 40 minutes for Dr. Smith. My appointment was at 9:45 and I didn't actually see the doctor until 10:50. I've never had to wait this long before. Guessing it was a very "off" day.

I have been a patient ofDr Smith’s for the past 20 years. He replaced my hip 20 years ago, replaced a knee 2 years ago & now I’m going to have a hip revision. Dr Smith is knowledgeable, courteous, honest & skilled. He also employs a great PA. I appreciate their honesty.

Dr Smith was able to diagnose my issue in a matter of minutes. He and his staff were very friendly and easy to deal with.

No wait excellent NURSE, XRay Tech and PA who administered injection. Dr. Smith easy to discuss problems and possible options for treatment. And new Leander office will be a plus.
