Dr. Scott Valentine Zaft, MD

Very personable but, does not act proactively with a follow-up for bloodwork done from other specialists such as cardiologists when they raise concerns. Does not allow prescriptions to be electronically ordered using the Federal Blue Cross/Blue Shield/CVS mail ordering. Does not fax prescriptions to CVS mail orders from Federal Blue Cross. This may be due to the increased work load after acquiring patients from Dr. Joanne Kinney who left her Damascus MedStar practice.

Great first visit. Dr Zaft is patient, nice demeanor, asks great questions, gets to know you and doesn't rush the visit. Highly reccommend.

The doctor has always been friendly knowledgeable and on time for appointments.

heaven forbid, if you, like me, have this doctor as your primary and get hurt. Talk about not listening and not caring about your pain - I was in an accident, had hurt my neck/back, and needed to work (my job afford me no option to take off - I either work or get sued.). saw Dr. Zaft first, immediately after the accident, and he would not help,in any way but write a referral for a physical therapy group that was booked two weeks out. called back, re-explained situation,and nothing. Ended up going to the hospital for some help. I had been with Dr, Zaft for two years , never in my 58 years had any substance abuse issues for him to be concerned about, and ended up had the worst weekend of my working life, I switched doctors the Monday following and have a compassionate physician who actually (seems to ) care if you have 8-9/10 pain and have to work to support your family. There are other issues of concern here all revolving around Dr. Zafts lack of empathy and lack of… understanding of the consequences of some of his decisions, like prescribing high doses of antidepressants and improperly titrating the so that I was sick for weeks. What a nightmare,
