Dr Sean Tchanho Hwang

My medications were not optimal, but Dr Hwang never said anything. Another doctor noticed they were wrong and corrected them. Dr did not listen to my history as it was told to him. The history in my chart seems to be copy-and-pasted from somewhere else and is not what happened during my seizures. He used the same incorrect description, copied from somewhere else, more than once. He also wrote that he counseled me about swimming and other things that I should not do, but he actually did not counsel me about any dangers at all. I prefer a doctor who listens to me and reports accurately in the chart. After all, other doctors will read my chart and may base their care on what he wrote, so he has an ethical obligation to take the time to listen to the patient and to report the history correctly. I prefer a doctor who TAKES CARE of his patients. I also prefer a doctor who does not claim he did something (counseling me about hazards for people who have seizures) that he did not do.

Dr Hwang is excellent! He is well spoken and has very good bedside manners. He has changed and saved my life...

Dr. Hwang is a great Neurologist. I am so happy to have been referred to him. I felt very comfortable in his diagnosis. He has great bedside manner.

Don't be deceived by this youthful appearance. He is experienced, prompt, caring and listens carefully to what you say. He explains things so you can understand them. My whole family is impressed by his medical and human skill. I have been with him since he was at LIJ and his whole team is phenomenal !

as opposed to my previous doctor, he did not realize that surgery was the answer. Had i stuck with him & not switched doctors and have the surgery, i would not be alive today!

Dr. Hwang was very professional and took the time to explain his diagnosis and opinion in a comforting and detailed manner. He is knowledgable and highly recommend him for any matters relating to epilepsy.

I am glad I finally found a doctor that specializes in treating epilepsy, after meeting many other docs- Dr. Hwang treats mostly people with seizures, and it is great to talk to someone who really understands the kinds of things we have to deal with everyday! He is a pretty good listener and definitely stays focused on my issues during the visit, unlike some docs I have met before.

I had great experience with Dr. Hwang,and I would definitely recommend LIJ for epilepsy
