Dr. Seema Mustafa Hisamuddin, MD

Extremely thorough ,takes the time to note a detailed history even though these conditions maybe treated by a specialist. I have been seeing her for the last 2 years and had referred my friend who loves her too.Not always easy to reach a live person at her office,but my calls are usually returned the same day and the doctor herself responds to some of my patient portal messages when I have a question that her nurse cant answer. I've been seeing Dr. Seema Hisamuddin for a year. Coming in from another state, I just assumed healthcare was less thorough, waiting times were unusually lengthy and follow up was left to the patient as the reviews for this office were good. I experienced one to two hour wait times for each appointment (four) during the course of the year. I was also asked if I had any new symptoms, however, they weren't recorded in the log from the office visit and when I would call to follow up, I was treated as if I made up the fact that they were presented in the office visit. I finally self referred to specialists to get some immediate care for symptoms that had been ongoing for a year with zero help from this office and realized that really great care is available here and I should not have let this go on for so long. Please do yourself a favor and locate a Dr. who not only listens to your concerns but also takes you seriously before your conditions worsen as mine did due to lack of being… taken seriously after waiting hours to see a professional about a real problem. Also, this office tends to inform you that they do not believe your insurance will covers tests and therefore don't order them. The speicalists ordered all the tests "STAT" as soon as I walked in the in the door and, they were all covered by my insurance. The specialists also indicated this is something my primary care doctor's office should have been able to easily find out on their own. Never again will I stick with a highly internet rated doctor (old ratings anyway), I will seek a doctor who cares which was easy after leaving this office.

Dr Seema is one of the best Doctors I have ever seen. She is very careful to make sure she explains everything to me and makes my visit personal. I truly believe she does care about her patients. I drive 32 miles to see her. I really am happy with her.

I love Dr Seema, she was great for a couple of years until i actually needed medial care. Gives tons of time and explains everything well. She is one of the best doctors with the WORST practice policies I have ever seen. I was really really happy with Dr Seema right up until I actually NEEDED medical care, then I realized I had to switch doctors, Why? because there are no same day appointments or even in a couple of days, with a doctor. They will say there are only nurse practitioners available and you have to wait a week to see the doctor. The reality is it should be the opposite. A nurse can handle physical and routine things. But I had a minor car accident and I had some neck and back pain and need it checked out, I need to see a Doctor not a nurse. Every other doctor I have been to has at least 10 same day appointments available for urgent situations. It appears like in this practice you can only see a doctor by advance (at least a week) appointment and all the urgent needs… are handled by nurses who may or may not have the skills to handle such needs. If it is not a life threatening emergency, I should not have to pay for an emergency room visit or urgent care just to see a doctor with in a day or two. Twice when I was seriously ill I was told I would have to see the nurse practitioner or wait over a week. I admit I refuse to see nurse practitioners because at a different office one proscribed a medicine for my son who was 3 months old and the medicine was banned for use with children and was later banned for adult also. Thank God the pharmacy caught it! If I am paying to see a doctor, I want what I pay for, because seeing a nurse is a risk, they are not as skilled as doctors or they would be a doctor. I want to be clear I love this doctor and had been about to switch my daughter to her also, but I am forced to switch myself to another doctor instead because I need a doctor that I can actually depend on to be there when I need them, not just once a year when I need a physical.
