Dr. Serafin Chua, MD

Dr. Chua was absolutely great! He went above and beyond at all my appointments weather taking time to do very through exams or taking time to review all test results with me one by one to help me understand more fully about my health problems and treatment. I have to drive several hours to Chicago for appointments and waited 11 months to be seen for my first appointment due to lack of Dr that accept my insurance but given the level of care I've received so far I'd make the long commute even if there was an available Dr closer. I've seen a lot of Dr and many don't seem to truly care and most don't take much time but that's not the case with Dr Chua. I highly recommend him

Seem to be a very antagonistic person and would not recommend a doctor like this his work my be ok not sure yet I really don't care for a doctor that does not greet you when you enter his room does not speak with you and just discuss and focus his attention to the teaching to his students very poor doctor

Arrogant. Doesn't listen, doesn't explain medications, doesn't give any options, doesn't have long term plan. Gets mad when patient is asking questions, even raises his voice.

Dr. Chua's misdiagnosis dearly cost me my life. He blamed my chest pains on anxiety when, in fact, I had effusions in my heart and lungs (which nearly cost me my life and landed me in the hospital for a week). He went on to tell me I was too crazy to be his patient and he would not treat me unless I received psychiatric help for my combativeness - when, in fact, my frustrations at his lack of attention to my symptoms was quite valid - it felt like something was very wrong and I wasn't being taken seriously, and it turned out to be true.In addition, he is impossible to get ahold of - the wait on the phone is always at least 30 minutes and the wait in the office is sometimes over 2 hours. The bathrooms at Kling have feces on the walls and are rarely cleaned.They are also inefficient and careless. In my application process for disability, SSA requested my records 4 times in 6 months and his office never sent them.NOTHING about this doctor, or his medical practice, is professional or… trustworthy.I am now at UIC and the quality of my healthcare, and as a result my entire life, has improved so dramatically it made me realize how absolutely devoid of quality Dr. Chua's practice really is.
