Dr. Seth Kivnick, MD

I have never done a review of a doctor before, but I felt compelled to after this appointment. From the beginning, the doctor seemed dismissive and impatient with my questions. I was referred by my primary care physician to discuss whether I could safely continue taking anxiety medication while trying to conceive and during pregnancy. I understand there is limited data and no simple answer, but instead of discussing risks, benefits, or options, he quickly recommended switching to an SSRI without meaningfully addressing my concerns. I have a history of severe anxiety, depression, and panic attacks, including one that resulted in hospitalization before I was prescribed anxiety medication. When I asked what I should know before trying to conceive, he asked if my cycles were regular. I explained that they were and that I track ovulation using LH test strips. He immediately dismissed this and told me not to bother with them. He then commented that “what doesn’t turn on guys” is getting a… call from their wife at work telling them to come home because she is ovulating. I found this comment completely unprofessional and inappropriate, especially given that I was a female patient discussing reproductive health with a male physician. I left feeling dismissed, unsupported, and no closer to receiving the guidance I was referred to obtain. This appointment did not provide the information or support I was referred to receive. Unfortunately, it felt like a complete waste of my time.

BEWARE…BEWARE…BEWARE!!!!!!! I do NOT understand why this doctor is still practicing medicine. I am saying this as a survivor of his malpractice RUN. He killed my daughter when I was 36w4d by being dismissive and sending me home only to come back in the ambulance and find no heart beat. I had a full Abruption that could have been avoided by prompt labs that he never did and a c section. I almost hemorrhage to DEATH. I had ZERO PLATELETS. Plus the Kaiser staff that are women stated that he is rude and talk patient business in the hallways. This man is to never be trusted whether on the floor, in the operating room, or in clinic. He is a HUGE THREAT TO ALL BIRTHING WOMEN . I will NEVER forget July 2017 & I see that shit didn’t faze him and he’s back to the same bs based on the comments. BE CAREFUL LADIES THIS ONE IS NOT THE ONE YOUR LIFE IS WORTH MORE.

Without a doubt the worst doctor I’ve visited. I went in to get help for worsening endometriosis symptoms— he dismissed all of my concerns and even said this disorder is just something I’ll have to deal with until menopause. He refused to investigate further or offer any viable treatments. If you’re looking for a good doctor, look elsewhere.

Dr. Kivnick did my fibroids surgery. Removed 16 fibroids with c-section. I felt great after a week. He is the most most knowledgeable and caring doctor I have ever met. Before my surgery a doctor told me that he is the best doctor in Southern California which is true. I had a great experience with him and his team. I don’t know how to thank him.... I wish him and his family health and happiness.

I’ve interacted with him twice and both times was severely disappointed. In my first interaction with him he was the Dr. on call when I was in the final parts of delivery. We are taking a 5 day journey and hour 4 of pushing. He walked by me and said those sounds aren’t going to help you progress. Then with child two he said, on our phone appointment, well the next appointment you will be able to see if the baby is alive and growing. ... like what? No bedside manner. So inappropriate.

Had a hysterectomy on Dec. 4th. Felt great a week later, Dr. Kivnick called the day after surgery, which was a Sat. answered all my questions and then again a week later. Love the level of care, compassion and experience. Very thorough and patient in answering all my questions and making sure I thrive. Had a great experience with the Anesthesiologists, handled my pain in the hospital with out trauma, no nausea, etc. Overall great experience.

I was sick with hyperemesis for the entirety of my first pregnancy. Dr. Kivnick patiently took care of me and I was not an easy patient - constantly sick, miserable and hormonal. He met with me nearly every week and was kind, informative and honest. I had a pretty awful time during labor while Dr. K was on vacation and he came in on his day off to perform my c-section. Thank god for Dr. Kivnick. 10 months later, Dr. Kivnick ran into my husband in the hospital and after learning that I was in recovery for a tonsillectomy, he came in the check on me! <3

He is an exceptional physician and excellent surgeon. I had to go through an open myomectomy for a fairly large fibroid and after going through my options including robotic, laparoscopic and laparotomy, underwent the latter option with him. He has excellent bedside manner, answers all your questions and do not ask you to do anything unnecessary. His skills are exceptional and he knows how to perform surgical procedures well with good outcome medically and good cosmetic results. I had researched many GYN’s before my surgery and I’m very grateful to have found him. Highly recommend him.

I first met Dr.Kivnic when I was pregnant with my son 20 years ago at the age of 19. Since then he has delivered my last 3 children. Dr Kivnic is the BEST obstetrician at Kaiser WLA. He's a high-risk Dr, extremely knowledgeable in women's health care, labor and delivery. I have 5 kids, all of which have been repeat c-sections. Dr. Kivnic has done an amazing job thus far with my c-sections deliveries! He knows what he's doing. He is very patient and caring. Excellent bed side manner!! He has really been a blessing to me and my family. In 2005 Dr. Kivnic tied my tubes after my 4th c-section. A couple years later I emailed him telling him of my regrets with getting my tubes tied because I wanted another baby. Dr.Kivnic listened, showed concerned and referred me to another amazing Dr who did a tubaligation reversal. Thankfully Dr.Kivnic delivered my last baby in 2015 with no complications! Amazing!

I switched from Bluecross to Kaiser. I was blown away by from Dr Kivnick’s knowledge to bedside manner. Thank you Dr Kivnick! Sincerely, Stuart and Angela Young
