Dr. Shaheen Shaukat Ali, MD

Since the Beginning of this COVID 19 Outbreak Dr Ali has been wonderful. Monitors my Compromised Immune System with phone consultations to make sure I am staying healthy and have the Medications that I need so I stay out of the hospital. Through the years My P.A. Jennifer Leary is always on top of ordering lab work RX's etc to help me maintain a healthy lifestyle and am so grateful for All them at the office. Thanks for calling me immediately, when the outbreak arrived and that I would receive a call from Dr Ali at 1pm and I did exactly at that time. Took the anxiety away! The girls are there every day taking care of our needs..we just don't go into the office.. Thanks to All of You! I pray for all of our Dr.s Nurses and Hospital staff who are there day and night trying to saves lives! Bless You… All! E. Proffitt

Pats on the back, take a pill , be quiet and be on your way. If you have any medical issue that requires a doctors time, dont go here. He does not have time for "complicated" medical issues and his PAs are not knowledgeable enough to handle much more than reading labs and even that is a stretch sometimes. This is not the kind of office where you feel a bond with your physician and a warm feeling from staff, far from it. When you need them, they will let you down, just awful. I cant recommend this office.

I made an appointment a month out. For one of my family members. They forgot there insurance card. The front desk person did not ask imploring questions concerning insurance. The front desk girl told my family member that they would have to pay 220 to see a doctor and that there not taking new patients. I was not told they were not taking new patients when I made appointment a month ago. But was told when I called that they lost 2 physicians. There was no apologys. I have had problems with this front desk office girl before. She is rude and matter of fact. Could her personal relations be affecting business? I would think that may be the case. Do the doctors even care? If you want to be treated with compassion and respect. I would suggest going elsewhere.

I have never disagreed with the medical treatment I have received from Dr Ali or anyone in his office. I have lived here for 30 years and never found anyone so compassionate and understanding.

Hugs and drugs..... a very narrow minded and money driven individual ...... never researched anything l even brought him published research and books to help him ....they are just sitting in his office. In the 3 years l tolerated the visits he never asked me about ... diet .... relationships.... environment.... work ..... just a lazy oh take this like every medical issue is based on a drug deficiency.... ludicrous... his nurse practitioners .... well l saw 2 and lm not sure l would let them prescribe an aspirin..... Cassie wellock actually called Lyme disease Lymes disease (Lyme is a town in Connecticut). As for billing well it was $200 for a 15min visit (with insurance) $100 cash .They then would try and bill insurance another $100 for ? when asked they said if insurance pays it great if not oh well ...... talk about unethical and we wonder why premiums are so high.l found another doctor to see closer to home but recently called his office to see if he knew anything of “mast cell… activation” l received a call ( no one answers the phone and you cannot email ) l was told that he didn’t know ( don’t know why l thought he would) l was also told that regardless he wouldn’t see me again .....is that even legal ? Find another real doctor.

Go anywhere else. They are constantly running late and rush with patients. you will wait about 50-60 minutes after your confirmed appointment time before you can get in. the doctor will spend less then 45 seconds with you before they write you a script or hand you a boxes of prescriptions to try. I left with several trials for heartburn medication when I went in with no problems relating to heartburn. The doctors are so doped up and in such a rush they do not listen to you.

Dr. Ali is the most caring doctor I have ever been to. He is very thorough and follows up on any health issues I have had.

Overall this doctors office is a poor excuse . I gave a good star to them being prompt because typically they are right on the nose with time so they can get you in and out and not spend a second more of time with you than they have too. I've never had a doctors office say that I'd have to "come in AGAIN to PROVE I'm actually sick".. Although I was in two days before and diagnosed sick from you people and you want me to come back in and prove it ??!? Even when you can clearly hear over the phone I'm 100% sick.. Absolutely ridiculous. Internal medicine has a definit way of insulting patients .They have a bunch of Amitures working there that just walk around in gym clothes and answer questions with "I don't know" or " I don't think" .. Doesn't make me feel to well my health is in the hands of people that don't know or think, and can't spend the time to dress them self in proper attire. What Doctor let's his employees walk around his office in sweaty gym clothes .. Internal medicines… Doctor, that's who. If you need an actual doctor to treat serious problems and help you with a sickness I would stay clear of internal medicine, find yourself an actual licensed MD .. Not an MA.

It was a terrible experience. I'd give a 0 if I could. It was a waste of my time and money. I was treated poorly, the staff was disrespectful, the nurse practitioners were treating me rather than the doctor as I requested. I was made to feel like my illness was not serious even though it is life threatening when not treated properly. Save your time and energy. Dr. Ali does not listen, rushes you out of the office like you're not worth his time and energy. A total loss for an office visit. Do not go, I'm sorry I set foot in that office. It was a terrible experience. He prescribed wrong medications I was allergic to and then got made at me as I called and told the office staff. I don't think you can find a worse practice and doctor in all of Reno. Hideous experience! He's arrogant and self absorbed on top of everything else like he's doing you a favor when he sees you. Yech! Save yourself for better medical care.

Dr. Ali is always kind and easy to talk to. I love going there!
