After 10 years of going from doctor to doctor trying to find out why my family was dying from cancer, here Doctor Shariat knew all about it and right there gave me a print out of his article written about hereditary cancer condition called Lynch Syndrome. He even made a call to a fellow doctor in France to ask an advice about my prophylactic surveillance. Last year I had an annual colonoscopy at Sloan Kettering and I went to sleep, woke up and went home without seeing a doctorâ??s face. After such experiences we come to appreciate someone like Dr. Shariat. If there were more doctors like him, doctors who truly care, I believe many lives can be saved, just as my sisterâ??s life could have been saved if doctors listened to my questions and had known cancer genetics. Doctor Shariatâ??s academic achievements are surprising and I believe that it is his compassion and true human nature that drives his academic success. I received a letter from Weill Cornel two days ago informing me… about his departure and acceptance of invitation from the University of Vienna. The news did not please me but I am sure he will do great work in there.

I wish evry doctor had Dr Shariat's ability to sit and talk about what the powerful diagnosis of cancer has on most people. His compassion and time helped get me through the difficult first few weeks. His medical expertise was spot on but as I said his humanity cannot be rated with only 4 stars

Within an hour. That's the 21st century equivalent of a housecall.He's the best. He took great care and a good deal of time to explain both my condition and my options to my wife and I. The staff have been nothing but professional, courteous and friendly. Dr. Shariat is the first one to whom I'll send a relative or friend with a similar condition.

There was absolutely no care involved and there was no concern in trying to refer me to an appropriate specialist. I was over billed and the office staff was rude.
