Dr. Shakur Hamidi Toosi, MD

The last two appointments I took my son in for were very frustrating. I have tried and tried to keep glasses on my 2 yr old over the past year. He was 2! (Now 3) So when I told him he won't wear his glasses he actually told me I need to punish him! He had no right to do that so then I was told he needed surgery to fix the muscles in the left eye and I thought I understood everything he was talking about but apparently not because he didn't explain it correctly or in a way I could understand I guess because he just did surgery on BOTH eyes and I wasn't even aware! He said the surgery would take about 45 minutes and that there would be two different procedures he would have to do but he made it sound like it was being done in the SAME eye. He has NEVER mentioned the right eye to me so me not knowing a thing about vision and eye surgery I really thought he meant 2 procedures in different areas of his ONE EYE. Anyway, he was rude and overstepped. Also, not good with talking to people… obviously. I gave two stars only because he was at least very nice to my boy.

Dr.Toosi is very nasty to children and he was especially mean to my son. He is only 6 years old and Dr.Toosi was yanking his head around, speaking to him horribly . Dr.Toosi was very rude to me as well.. I can’t understand what we did to deserve such terrible service.. the man who sells and fits the eyeglasses is much more friendly and should be the one working with children ! He made the experience better with comic relief and hospitality.

I was referred to Dr. Toosi by Chesapeake Regional ER with provisional diagnosis of detached retina. Dr. Toosi quickly determined my problem was actually a blocked coratid artery which was affecting my vision. He immediately consulted with a vascular surgeon, setting up the necessary testing. His interdisciplinary knowledge and timely action quite lierally saved my life. I can't recommend him more highly.
