Dr Shamim Is an amazing cardiologist, he has completely transformed my outlook in life, Since being under his care, I have received a life challenge, I can honestly say that he made a believer out of me. I no longer inject two types of insulin , my blood sugar levels used to be 265 +, for the past 6 weeks I average 135 daily. Very thorough. Explains complex anatomy & physiology of your condition such that it makes sense! Uses visuals from computer sites and models of heart to explain how things work, how you ended up in his office in the 1st place & how you can help yourself be the healthiest person possible while living with your condition.

Dr. Shamim used 5 days to take patient from ICU to discharge so she could take a trip with a long plane ride. His diagnosis, treatment and result could not have been better. He communicated clearly about the disease, treatment plan, rationale, expected result and recommended follow-up. He was right on in all phases of treatment and communication. I was referred to Dr. Shamim by my Surgeon after an abnormal EKG during a pre-op screening. I was scheduled for surgery in 2 ½ weeks to remove 2 separate cancers but needed a clearance from a Cardiologist. Within 5 business days of this referral I had 1) my appointment with Dr. Shamim who after an in depth exam gave me orders for 3 additional cardiac tests to be performed at either Memorial Medical Center or NM Cardiac Care 2) NM Cardiac Care secured these appointments and 3) these tests were completed and analyzed by Dr. Shamim. Only 5 hours after undergoing the final test at Memorial, I received word from Dr. Shamim that all test results were normal and I was cleared for surgery. This fine Doctor is not only highly competent he is also compassionate, congenial, and attentive. The NM Cardiac Care staff did their many tasks seamlessly and with urgency to ensure I had these results in plenty of time for my surgery.
