Dr. Sharon Horesh Bergquist, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Horesh for many years and I would not go to anyone else. She is very friendly, and treats patients with respect and difference. Dr. Horesh goes the extra mile in diagnosing conditions. Instead of just giving you a pill, she makes sure she understands the cause of the condition by listening to you and asking questions to probe deeper. I would refer anyone to Dr. Horesh.

I've Dr. Horesh (she is actually Dr. Bergquist now) since she started her practice at Emory over a decade ago. I was stunned than, and am still grateful today, to have found a doctor that cares for my whole person (family, nutrition, mental health--along with physical issues) at each and every visit. She is without a doubt the most attentive, PRESENT, doctor I've ever seen. When she is in the room with you, you are her sole focus and she is fully engaged in listening with her mind and her heart. She is a gentle and compassionate woman by nature and that is very comforting when you are dealing with health issues. She is a "Gandhi" of a doctor :>). She also remembers, visit-to-visit, year-to-year, what you've discussed with her and is familiar with tests and procedures performed by other doctors. Because Dr. Bergquist's has reduced hours in the office in order to raise her family, another thing I love about her, it is difficult these days to get an appointment. Whatever the… wait, however long the drive (80+miles each way), I will stay with Dr. Bergquist until she retires!

Dr. Bergquist not only helps me stay healthy, but her kind manner is the underlying reason I saw a nutritionist she recommended (which I had been resisting) and so far have lost almost 35 pounds on my own in a year. The nutritionist was great, but it was Dr. Bergquist's gentle persuasion that inspired me to actually go! Thanks, Dr. B.(She took extra time to really talk to me.)

Dr.Horesh is very kind and knowledgeable. She does as others have said---listen and clarifies to see if she understands. Dr. Horesh is "present" when she is with you. She is willing to answer questions and provide clear explanations as needed. Oh! Also I feel better after going and my health improves based on the treatment I receive! I just got lucky to have found Dr. Horesh as my doctor. It is nice to know other people can find great doctors like her too...thanks to Vitals.com!
