Dr. Sharon Gail Rechter, MD

When my insurance changed, my Psychiatrist would no longer treat me. It took me 9 months to find Dr. Rector, who did not turn me away as the other providers did (Covid?) I was definitely in crisis, and whatever she said, it calmed me down. There are so many providers out there who absolutely demean the existence of their patients; Dr. Rector is not of this ilk.

Reading negative reviews makes me think about how hard it must be to treat people with mental illness. Trying to guide someone with emotional grief, tragedy or one with twisted thought processes or one with limitless hatred is the most difficult task in medicine. It’s not like prescribing a pill for heartburn or ordering an X-ray, these patient require one to one. For anyone to choose to go into a profession like that and then get hammered with negative reviews isn’t fair. Dr. Sharon Rechter does her best. She listens. She cares. She won’t please all the people but those people don’t run out and post things like those full of negativity. I’m lucky to have had her in my life.

I can’t even call Sharon Rechter a Dr. I have read many review I wish I had before I saw that B—ch. Within 3 weeks she ruined my life. Took me off med, put me on meds. Never explaining anything, and don’t dare question her decisions. I was smart enough to FIRE her.

Dr.Rechter diagnosed my condition and prescribed proper medication. By my 3rd follow up with Dr, Rechter I was finally maintaining my issues. She was more than concerned about the treatment for my condition and when that was clearly under control she went on to deal with my other issues regarding stress and anxiety. Finding a DR that makes you feel connected is nearly impossible. She is a wonderful DR. I wish her the best and her new patients are lucky to have her.

I treated with Dr. Rechter for depression for two years and I found her to be a very caring and knowledge physician. I'm not sure why she left the practice but unlike the people who have criticized her in the comments below I am at least capable enough to realize it was something she had to do for either professional or personal reasons and unless you have talked to her personally about it why are you even commenting about it ..? She helped me during a very difficult time in my life and I am better today because of her. I went to see her a month after my mother passed away from stage four esophagus cancer, I lost my mother and best friend and at that time my life was unbearable. The three months she was ill I cared for her as she was throwing up blood and didn't want to be alone. My heart broke the day we had to take her to the hospital and she died there instead of home like she made us promise we would do. There are always going to be those people who have negative things to say… and the majority of the time those same people have negative things to say about everything.

Wow, it seems like Dr. Rechter's ratings plummeted when she left practice. Sounds like sour grapes to me. I was in severe crisis when I began seeing Dr. Rechter. My deteriorating mental state alienated both my superiors at work and my immediate family, and also resulted in some minor legal troubles. Dr. Rechter changed my medication (something my previous Dr. would not do), and spent a considerable amount of time counseling me in her office, speaking with my superiors at work, and holding joint counseling sessions between myself and my immediate family members. Within a few months my career was back on track, I was on good terms with my family, and my legal issues were resolved. Anyone who would criticize Dr. Rechter obviously has not had the misfortune of dealing with a bad psychiatrist. Anybody know where she went?

I was very unsatisfied with Dr Rechter from the beginning. However as many patients know just getting an appointment anywhere is a long drawn out process that equals months on list. I saw Sharon 2 times a year for 3 years before she left the practice. Each time I had to run through my whole senior and he did not remember any of the updates I had given her. Compassion and wanting to help the fellow man is what being a doctor is about, with her I found no compassion or general interest in my well being. Iâ??m hoping now that I am assigned to a new doctor in the office I will finally get to the root of my problems.

Not only is Dr. R uncaring, the office staff is as well. In case some of you are not aware, she just walked out on her patients. I, however was disatisfied with her "so called treatment and care". I would highly recommend to stay from this Doctor and forget about the staff being able to help in a timely manner. There is not enough staff to adequately take care of the patients. So, some uncaring may be due to being over worked and understaffed as far as the front office is concerned, however I cannot even thing of a possible reason for Dr. R to not treat properly. She may be a magician as far as writing scripts, but if you ever have a crisis, which if you have a mental illness, you are aware that you will, don't count on being helped. I was left to spiral down so far and to only get told to go to the hospital. Instead of md and staff assisting, they acted like I had a hang nail. I could go on forever, but I think all who are reading this are aware of what this review means. And… please Dr R., no need to apologize, your apology for yourself and or the office staff will not be taken seriously by myself and family members who have been there first hand to experience the nightmare of your "lack of treatment and professionalism".

Does anyone know where this quack is now that she left the practice she was at without notifying her patients?

She is the best dr.Ive ever been to.Not only she per-scribes the right medication she also is easy to work with and a caring dr.She helped my problem and I am most thankful for that.
