Honest and concerning.

This is Dr. Lin himself. The Vitals.com website has changed its sign-in process that I could no longer sign in, so I am writing here to address the negative comment, prior to this very one, regarding his/her C2 fracture. I used to be the main neurosurgeon taking calls at Suburban Hospital, but starting this year there have been other neurosurgeons sharing them with me. But because of my long history at Suburban, very often my name is placed on the patients' discharge instructions for follow-up, erroneously, even though I was not the one consulted. Among the doctors who share calls with me, some of them have similar last names as mine. I put high priority in my interaction with the patient. On average I put 30 minutes of face-to-face time, each, when I counseled on trauma, inpatients, and outpatients. My office staff will never say to the patient that no one will call them back; they have been trained by me for years. All my other online reviews by multiple patients can testify… to my interactions with the patients. I found this negative review's description completely deviated from my care philosophy, and I have reasonable doubt that the reviewer's comments were actually about another patient. Given his/her misconception, I do not think this patient will come to my office for follow-up, but I do urge that he/she should have a follow-up with a competent neurosurgeon regarding the fracture. I wish him/her the best.

I was seen by Dr. Lin in the trauma unit after a car accident. There were a lot of doctors in the trauma visit and a lot of tests. Dr. Lin had me put in a neck brace for a fracture of my spine at C2. I was told by a nurse, that I would be in the neck brace for at least six weeks, probably 8 - 14 weeks. I also had other fractures in my torso, that I had doctors follow-up with me about. I asked many times while in the hospital, to meet Dr. Lin to get an explanation of what exactly was going on. He finally met with me on the fifth day, my day of discharge. I mentioned to him how many times I had asked to discuss my fracture, He didn't seem concerned at all. His office then sent me a referral for a C spine x-ray of the C2. There was a mix-up with the x-ray that was done. I could see by the results that the C2 wasn't even looked at, although it was in his order. I spoke to someone at his office to explain the problem. She said he had no one that could call me back about it. … I insisted that the Dr. please call me then, because i could see that the test he requested wasn't done. I never received a call. I was prepared to see him for my six week follow-up. But between the lack of his availability in the hospital for even one visit, and the ineptness of the follow-up, I am going to another doctor.

Dr. Lin is truly professional. I recommend him to everyone without reservations.

Dr. Lin is personable, takes his time to explain, and answers questions willingly and completely. Put me at ease before very scary tumor surgery. Took as long as he needed to make sure I understood everything, made me the focus without hurrying. He is the best!

My experience with him has been excellent. He spent lots of time explaining my condition and all the options. After my surgery, my pain completely resolved. I would recommend him to anyone.
