Dr. Shiva Jabedar Maralani, MD

Dr. Shiva Jabedar Maralani was great and answered my questions. I felt she was thorough. Would highly recommend her as a doctor. I would have given 5 star and thought about giving a lower star because the nurse or PA that was handling my case lacked any type of communication skills and common courtesy. It started off when I walked through the door, there wasn't a "Hi" or "follow me, let's get your weight" or anything, just silence. So, we got to the scale and again, silence, not a step on the scale or anything. So I assumed she wanted me to step on the scale to get a measurement. After getting off the scale she was quick to ask, "what is your height"? I told her. She then proceeded to just tell me that they need a urine sample and what room I would be in. I produced my sample and brought it with me because the cup wasn't marked. When she came back in, she seemed highly annoyed and grabbed my urine sample. Within 5-10 minutes she came back in and said, we need bladder scan,… pull your pants down a little bit. That's all she said as she did the procedure and then when she was done, nothing else was said, she left the room. The absolute final thing where I had enough was after the doctor was done with me and I was getting off the table half clothed from the exam and she just knocked and then came right in to start talking to me about the follow up. I said "can you please leave so that I can get dressed and then I will listen to your instructions." After I got dressed, I opened the door, went down the hall and turned the corner to find her talking with the other nurses about me. I didn't care about that at all, but the lack of just common courtesy was something I have not had happen in quite some time, especially at a doctors office. I run a business and if anyone treated customers the way this girl treated me, there would be write up or a fire. My hope is that this particular nurse at the very least gets some lessons on making sure people are fully dressed before she re-enters a room.

The appointment was a smooth efficient medical experience. Polite staff, and answered any questions i had.

Dr. Maralani is very efficient and listens to what I have to say. I would highly recommend her as your doctor.

I took my Mom to her 4th Appt. and Dr. Maralani was an hour and half late with no apology! This also happened one time before and I didn't say anything. This time I did. When Dr. Maralani finally came in I remarked about the wait and she not only copped an attitude but claimed I am always asking something! I am interested in my Mom's well being so excuse me for wanting some answers! Apparently it is a problem to ask questions since on the Second Appt. I started to ask a question and she shut me down by saying I always ask too many questions!! My Mom had only been there for one other Appointment! I still wasn't getting any answers by the 3rd Appointment but wanted to follow this through to fix my Mom's condition. At the 4th Appt. I spoke up and she suggested my Mom find a different Doctor! Who does that? Apologize for the wait, answer the questions and find a result!! That's what I expect and I will be finding another Doctor for my Mom.

Dr. Maralani is very knowledgeable and thorough. I would recommend her to anyone needing any urology or urogynecology services. Shes well worth the wait!

From my previous visits with Dr. Maralani and the PA's, they didn't jump to automatic surgery although they indicated it was a strong possibility. They tried everything to take care of the problem conservatively, but surgery is in my future. Everyone was caring and they LISTENED.
