The treatment that my husband received almost lead to his death. He misdiagnosed 3 major problems. That caused him to hospitalized for complete kidney failure ( 2days after he was seen by Dr. V. Dr took a urine sample he said was clear). He stated his back pain was related to work history and age, when actually it was a kidney problem. He missed the tumor growing on his ureter. He missed the knee pain as old age when it was knee prosthesis failure. I can't describe my anger and pain this man has caused my family.i would never reccommend him to anyone. I had to pray daily because I wanted to publicly embarrass this man, and tell my story. My husband is still with me thanks to others at the hospital. No thanks to him

Doctor V is very caring and knowledgeable. The whole staff treated me well and it felt like a medical home rather than a medical business.

Incompetent medically & administratively. Rude. Dishonest. The doctor and all staff I encountered.

Entire staff is rude and condescending. Either unwilling or unable to submit bills to insurance so that you will be reimbursed. Exam was incomplete and very poorly executed. Staff makes misstatements, records information incorrectly, takes over a month to get new prescriptions, fails to submit orders for tests, ignores test results when they come in, etc.

I have been going to Dr.V for the past 3 years. I fully trust him seeing my entire family.He spends a lot of time with you and explains in simple terms what is going on with us. He often researches the most affordable and accurate meds for us (unlike other doctors) who are there to feed the pharm companies. A++++ doctor. Worth the wait getting in to see him.

I agree with other users, Dr. V talks too much, and doesn't listen enough. However, the bigger issue I have with him, is that I went in to see about a blister that looked like it was infected. Instead of inspecting the wound, he talked forever and ended up misdiagnosing me. I had MRSA, but he told me it was just a staph infection. He put my on antibiotics. However, MRSA is VERY serious, and it should have been treated immediately. As the infection continued to grow, I tried to get Dr. V on the phone, but he would not talk to me over the phone. Because of that, I had to go in and get a second opinion since the infection didn't seem to get any better. Needless to say the doctor was APPALLED that this hadn't been taken more seriously, and that Dr. V didnt know it was MRSA. He said it was a classic case and that any Doctor should have known that. It was a huge ordeal because at that point, I had waited too long. I would also like to add that the staff at Family Medical group is… VERY unprofessional and rude. I heard them gossiping about another patient who was walking out, saying she was looking tried and struggling with postpartum depression. The whole waiting room overheard this gossip (which should have not been going on in the first place!)I certainly hope you have a better experience with this medical group. I would never go back.

I really like this doctor, he spent the time explaining medications and alternatives to myself and my wife. I felt that while he was in teh room I was his priority and he was very attentive. I highly recommend this doctor.

Very personable and professional. Helped me alot. Very nice office and staff.

It would behoove the doctors of Columbia Family Medical Group to spend less time talking and more time listening to their patients. It may also be beneficial for them to use recognized scientific methodology to prove or disprove illnesses instead of attempting to correlate them to insignificant and unrelated illnesses or maladies of their own. It would not hurt if they would shut up long enough for a person to explain their symptoms as well. The purpose of a doctor is to cure and one cannot do that if they don't listen. It is a lesson that I know this doctor and one other doctor at CFMG would benefit from learning.
