Dr. Siobhan Marie Newman, MD

She's a sub par ER MD. She has poor people skills and lousy bedside manner. She's the worst ER MD I have ever seen She told the nurse to tell me to consent to a CT scan with contrast or AMA myself out.

I was in the ER at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital for difficulty breathing. I spent two hours waiting in the waiting room and then was seen by a Physician Assistant who asked me a few questions. They drew two basic labs and gave me a liter bolus of saline. Dr Newman finally came hours later into my ER visit. I could hear her speaking with the patient next to me belittling his knowledge of anatomy. After an approximately 30 second conversation with him, she walks over to me and asks me two questions. She then rolls her eyes and walks away frustrated by me. After the liter of normal saline was given to me, the nurse says I'm ready to go and hands me a copy of my labwork. I never see the doctor again. She never placed a hand on me, examined me, followed up with me or explained her diagnostic impression of what was going on. I received a bill weeks later with a $857 physician fee and a ridiculous $60 "night service" fee for the highest level of billing code which relates to complex care… provided to people with illnesses that are an immediate danger to their life. This is akin to somebody with a cardiac arrest receiving critical care level services and attention. Not the services of a flippant, arrogant physician who shows disdain to every patient and doesn't provide any real service. I'm also an internal medicine physician and would NEVER treat patients like this and would truly embarrassed to provide this level of care to patients.
