Dr. Somharn Saekow, MD

I went to Dr. Saekow on the (strong) recommendation of my GP. I had a benign bump near my temple on my head that i wanted to remove. He was pretty fast with the initial examination. In the second visit, he made an incision, and removed some tissue, and then sewed it up with some dissolving stitches and then some kind of glue patch on top. He said he wasn't able to remove all of it as it was deeper than he suspected (I don't blame him for this.) However, it still kept bleeding for several days. I contacted Dr. Saekow a few times by email but he just said the bleeding should eventually stop, which it did after several days, when I went in to see him. It appears what happened is that the temple area moves a lot when eating or even talking, and that the glue and stitches were not strong enough to contain the movement, and so the wound had eventually stopped bleeding but with the incision opened. Now I have a half inch in diameter patch of skin that has no hair on it, surrounded by hair,… which is very noticeable in the temple area with my short hair. I feel that he should have known better to use regular stitches in the temple area and that he should have known that continued bleeding is an indicator that the stitches had broken; he could have put in regular stitches the following day or two, but couldn't be bothered. Buyer beware!

Dr. Seakow has taken care of me for the last 10 years. He has done mohs surgery on me twice with no scars. He is an excellent skin surgeon.

I have had more skin cancer treatments and surgeries over the years than you can imagine. Maybe 50-75 over forty years. Dr Saekow is the finest and most caring surgeon of all I have visited. His staff is excellent, the way you wished a doctor’s staff would be. Take your personal call, work you in, work your friends in. Dr. Saekow has never done a surgery on me without setting up his Bose Music System and selecting appropriate music for the session to calm me and pass the time comfortably while he works his magic. He is fast and precise. He has always provided near miracle results and has become a close friend over many years of minor and major surgeries. Always offers to see you and check if you have any question. He is an amazing and skilled doctor.

Nice man but not current practice and forgets important details of patient history. Each time I went in he forgot about my cancer history and recommended a medication that was contraindicated. If I had not pointed this out he would have prescribed. Read the chart!

Dr. Saekow goes out of his way to provide excellent treatment with a great deal of empathy. I trust Dr. Saekow and his team. They make me feel like I'm the only patient.
