Dr. Eden makes a great first impression, but unfortunately she is neither kind or compassionate. If you are lucky enough to have your procedure go smoothly, I imagine that you can walk away holding her in the high esteem you originally felt. But if something goes wrong, she will quite possibly abandon you immediately and shift into a defensive mode with her only concern being one of self protection. Unfortunately, it was not only Dr.Eden that proved to be dishonest, her assistant was also part of the problem. If I had not been finally able to find another surgeon willing to step in and reverse her work, I don't know if I would still be here to write this review. My greatest issue is not the fact of the misplaced hardware, mistakes happen, it is the fact that she would not even consider the thought of there being a problem worth even being investigated.

Dr Eden is extremely thorough. She spends as much time with you as you need and answers all your questions. She will personally call you back to check on your progress after surgery. The best surgeon I have ever had.

My wife was in constant pain for multiple years, and gradually losing the use of her left shoulder, before an MRI found a tumor inside the cervical vertebrae of her spinal cord. Dr. Eden was able to diagnose the location, tell us the steps to remove it, tell us in advance what the potential consequences would be (we would sacrifice a nerve, but the numbness would be better than the chronic pain), what would happen afterwards, including the fusion of several vertebrae together, and lastly, to perform the surgery. The surgery itself took almost 12 hours from start to finish. My wife has numbness is her elbow, has regained the use of her arm. The pain is gone. She was professional from start to finish. Our two year old daughter is a fan, thinking she met the real life Doc McStuffins, and even wanted Dr. Eden's autograph. The office help was courteous, but a little less organized (perhaps Dr. Eden's biggest negative overall.) Still, the office administrative staff performed… adequately to needs and scheduling. Once we committed to this course of action of surgery, the surgery was scheduled and performed FAST--within two months. The tumor has not re-appeared. Dr. Eden displayed professionalism, competence, good post operation follow up, and a personal touch. This is not repairing a broken arm here--it is literally brain surgery where where the tissue has the texture of jello. I could not do what she does. I would recommend this doctor for major neuro-surgery. PS: She performed this 12 hour operation and excellent follow up while we were on medicaid.

Dr. Eden was so pleasant yet totally professional. She knew exactly what to do upon looking at my brain MRI. From the time of the surgery I have had 100% relief and total healing involving balance and bladder control. Her talent and surgical ability gave me my life back !!!

Ruptured discs at a few levels in lumbar, and The rest are bulged to T-11. Constant debilitating pain and weakness in my back and legs. MRI shows nerve root compression at multiple levels. Referred to Dr. Sonya Eden and during exam she identified weakness in leg and toes that I didn't realize was there until she showed me. Offered me surgery at 1 level to fix the leg and toe issues only. I asked about my back pain and problems that I was actually referred to her for, as well as if a fusion was warranted to fix the problems and stop the further degeneration, and she couldn't have cared less about my back. Told me everyone's back degenerates as we age (1 bulged disc to this in less than a year with no trauma?) and that it was perfectly normal. (I am 33)I asked about fixing my actual problem, and she said there was no way to guarantee they could. Of course you can't guarantee it, but you should have ordered the Discogram at your suggestion instead of waiting for me to bring it up. She… reluctantly agreed to order the test after trying to talk me out of it for a few minutes ("it is incredibly painful, not worth doing, you will regret it", etc.) After discogram I called her office for a week 3 separate times, 2 days apart and they will not even return calls or schedule appointment to discuss results. Now I have to go back to primary care doc and start this all over again with a new surgeon, causing several more months of constant pain that is unnecessary simply because this cldoctor and office staff (Dr. Eden's medical assistant Kim) didn't feel my care warranted follow up or common courtesy like returning any of my calls for test results.She suggested surgery for the leg, then to find a different doctor to address the back and do surgery again later. When I said that multiple surgeries was not what I wanted she became rude and indifferent. Made me feel as if she felt her time was being wasted. Ask for a second opinion or a different doctor. In my opinion she doesn't care about patients in constant pain (if you are on Medicaid, anyway).

Felt like she wanted me in and out, didn't really care either way what choice I made regarding surgery, did not feel like she was invested in my best interest.

My experience at this practice and with this physician was outstanding. She is one of the most caring and compassionate physicians I have ever met. I would recommend her to anyone needing her specialty.

, No, thank you Gid I did not lowwer my self to this "person"! What has happened to Kindness, compassion, to understanding of eachother. I thought I was seeing a Professional person, Boy was I MISSED LEAD. she brought up last year like she took it personal that I wanted to be there for my daughter, and then she acused me of (liing) she said that there were no notes about my not having insurace! Why would I lie, I am in pain every day&night, I want to work, I don't wnat this life, but I do my best to stay positive! She MAY have a specialitie, but there is nothing of the personalite that is even close to being "human"! any I angry, not I am hurt, disapointed, that so called "professional" gets away with treating people so disrespectfully. I would not recomment this persoon to any one!
