Dr. Sonia S Giknavorian, MD

Please read this review and do not go to Sunrise Internal Medicine and Dr. Giknavorian for any reason! Sunrise Internal cannot even a professional office now, so how are they going to be open 7 days a week, 24 hrs a day? They have a full back page ad in The Shopper this week, 12-30-2024. After an unbelievable experience in their office, I filed a grievance with my Medicare Advantage insurer against Dr. Giknavorian. They agreed with my complaint, approved my grievance and are taking the appropriate forward steps! I have since filed a complaint with the Arizona State Medical Board against Dr. Giknavorian with my claim currently under investigation by their own investigators all because no one wanted to take accountability for their actions. It's all about the principle at this point. I was held against my will AND I was refused the right to leave. I stated to their nurse that "I am getting up, going outside, getting in my car and driving home." Their nurse decided he was in control and… refused to let me leave. There is no need to release my medical issue from that day in this review as it is not necessary within the purpose of speaking my truth. In a second major instance of "unknowledgeable employees" in this office, the medical office staff changed my yearly Wellness exam appointment to be outside of the Medicare guidelines by 17 days without my knowledge or approval. Who does not know what they're doing? That's embarrassing for them. That's their job! We have a lot of other good places for medical offices in Bullhead City that we do not need to unwillingly participate in any unprofessional actions of any doctor or their staff, whom they are responsible for. There is absolutely nothing Sunrise Internal Medicine can refute in my review."

Sonia Giknavorian is a wonderful doctor with a great staff. Highly recommended!

She was rude and condescending. She had her opinion about who I was based on what she had heard from another doctor and what she saw. She said all my problems related to my weight and, if I lost 50 pounds, I would have no problems. Well, I have lost more than that and I still have all my problems. A doctor is supposed to be compassionate and understanding. As a result of the conversation between the two doctors, the relationship between the first one is ruined. I no longer see him, but his physician assistant and no longer trust him. I would never go to see her because she did no exam, but based everything on what he said. I was very disappointed in how she reacted to what I said. I am not stupid. I was a teacher and have a Master's Degree. To me, she is not the right person for Bullhead City. She should be practicing in a large city where she can treat them without regard to what they are saying. I would never recommend her for any age.
