Dr. Sonia Yousuf, MD

I was given a bad taste in my mouth from the get go. First appointment, I was left in the patient room for 45 minutes past my appointment time. When she finally graced me with her presence she apologized for making me wait saying she just won’t rush her patients. Well that sounds great and I appreciated that except she RUSHED ME OUT THE DOOR. EVERY single communication I have attempted with her or her staff takes BEYOND forever to get a response or is ignored completely. She doesn’t look further into anything. She acts like I am drug seeking and does nothing extra ever. A monkey can read lab results. Her staff and herself are unorganized and lazy. I have wasted more time, money and emotional energy than she deserves and I will NEVER go back to her. I am not someone who goes to the doctor a lot. I am not someone who wastes time and money seeing drs about minor things. SOMETHING is going on with me. I am an active 40 yr old women who eats right and works out 5 days a week. I am not a… lazy hypochondriac diagnosing myself with crazy stuff. SOMETHING is wrong. There are signs in my labs that show as much. DO SOMETHING. LOOK DEEPER. THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE F*#^ING PAID FOR.

I am so grateful, i found Doctor Sonia Yousuf. She very caring and spend time, listening to her patients. And she always available to her patients. And also her nurse she is very helpful. Dr. Yousuf ,she is a very good doctor. I definitely recommend her. She is the best.

I have severe autoimmune diseases. We moved to Austin so I could be with top, good drs. I picked her because she was the closes near where we live. She had much bloodwork for me. I went there to get help but that is not what she does! She probably trained as a rheumatologist but THAT is not what she treats. She treats dry mouth whether it’s Sjogren disease or any disease that causes a dry mouth. She made it very very clear that she does not give out scripts except for two meds to help a dry mouth. I went to her a second time. Then I waited for 4hrs to be seen and in all actuality she runs a mill. When I finally went into a room she was very clear that I should never take Azathioprine because I could get cancer. She tried very hard to make me afraid of that med but that med kept me safe and stopped more diseases. For 30 years I was safe. I dropped her also because I told her to write on the order for labs draw only in the foot. 10times. She still didn’t write that. I can’t believe that… people trust her. I did the labs. But they were not good and she said nothing about that. I will do whatever I have to so the word is out about her. She and other drs may have contributed to the severity of now what I’m dealing with!Not AGood Person!

Smart, caring, patient, listens??

I was very, very sick when I went to see her and was in an irritable state of mind and got a little annoyed that she was a bit pushy with some tests, but I'm so happy she did because I wouldn't be here today if she was nonchalant about my condition. She helped save my life. Thank you so much, I am forever in debt to you, Dr. Yousuf!!

My experience was disappointing due to; concerns that were dismissed, questions unanswered, lack of courteous reply's.

I've been a patient of Dr. Yusef's for 7 years, but even at the first visit, she treated me as if she had known me for years. She's incredibly knowledgeable and very thorough in her exams. When I need blood work or other tests, her nurse calls me as soon as they receive the results. The only negative is that because Dr. Yusef is one of only TWO Rheumatologists in Jackson, it's sometimes hard to get an appointment. I'd recommend her to anyone.

When I was sent to Dr Yousuf no one could figure out why I was having health troubles, but they were treating my symptoms - in other words they were masking the problems. Dr Yousuf did not accept that the reason could not be found and she invesitgated why I was having the symptoms - she found the root cause and began treating the disease not the symptoms. The only reason I no longer see this wonderful doctor is because I had to move to Tennessee and she is no longer an option for me. In my opinion she is a strong, smart compassionate doctor.

Dr. Yousuf was very kind and took the time that was needed to go over all of the tests and options for me. She did a complete work up and was worth the wait!!
