Dr. Chalasani showed no compassion when I was in her office for my three month follow up after chemo treatment. I explained to her that I was experiencing neuropathy. The numbness is constant in my feet and fingers. This has caused anxiety on most days. I'm scheduled for jury duty soon and I'm not feeling up to it mentally or physically knowing that the days are usually long. I asked if she could give me a letter excusing me from jury duty she said no since I'm no longer receiving chemo treatment. I left feeling frustrated and hopeless.

I have been a patient of Dr. Chalasani since 2016. I have found her medical knowledge to be excellent, not only in oncology, but other areas as well. Being a Doctor, however, requires more than knowledge and technical abilities. It requires the ability to relate to patients in a way that conveys both expertise and compassion. In my opinion, Dr. Chalasani excels in both areas and I have been quite satisfied with the level of care provided me through this difficult time by Dr. Chalasani.

Dr. Chalasani is an amazing Dr. she take her time to explain treatment options and answer al question. She also advocates for her patients. Other Drs told us my husband didn't have a chance and gave up before even trying any treatments. We wanted a Dr that was willing to fight with us even if there is not cure. And we found that with Dr Chalasani. She is the answer to our prayers!

Please don't believe all the negative reviews. Dr Chalasani is very good with the patients. Patients comfort and privacy is her top Priority. Dr Chalasani is such a nice person with positive attitude. Very helpful in explaining everything, without having to rush out to see the next patient.My cousin got diagnosed with STAGE IV Stomach Cancer. Dr Chalasani monitored her treatment plan so closely, addressed all her concerns and presented her with best available options and treatment plan. My cousin is only 34 years old and the doctors at the other hospital said she would not live past one year. It has been almost an year now and my cousin is in far better shape . In addition to the fact that she works at the renowned Memorial Sloan-Kettering, Dr. Chalasani is highly respected within the institution. Regarding my personal situation, Dr. C. was the consummate professional. I always felt comfortable with her in charge of my treatment plan - adjusting chemo when necessary, explaining all procedures, and expertly guiding expectations. Dr Chalalsani was an excellent fit for me. A cancer diagnoses is frightening enough and trying to determine the best treatment plan is often scary and confusing. Dr Chalasani explained my treatment plan and what to expect with compassion and clarity. She is attentive not only her patients, but to their family members as well. No matter what question I had, she made sure I had the answer either by phone or in person.

My father has been in Dr. Chalasani’s care for pancreatic cancer since we came to Sloan Kettering in 2017 . She has been very thorough in her approach and takes his view as a patient into account and respects his opinion. She will always listen to his questions and try to help him deal with his issues in a way that can limit his side effects. She also encourages him to keep his outlook positive which helps in his recovery process. I would highly recommend Dr. Chalasani since she is advocates for her patients which is really required for quality medical care.

Dr. Chalasani has always provided me with excellent care during my 20 months under her. She takes meticulous notes and is constantly probing and following up with questions on items that have been issues in the past. She is also concerned about my overall well being as is evidenced by her reminders and frank discussions about other doctors that I may need to potentially see that may be outside the oncology realm. Patient and honest. I would highly recommend her.

A very kind doctor that listens to my concerns and does her very best to answer my questions. Her answers truly made me feel like she knew my feelings and her reply was just what I was looking for. She is truly wonderful and I would definitely recommend her.
