This will be a long and detailed review. The best thing I can say about my visit was that those chairs in the waiting room were really comfortable. I got to see him fairly quickly, which was nice. But once I was in the room to see him he asked why I was there. I thought doctors at least glanced at the paperwork you filled out before coming in to see you, but I guess he doesn't. They weren't busy, so that was not the excuse. I believe I was the only patient there. I told him I have generalized epilepsy and I'm looking for an increase of dosage on my medication because it didn't feel strong enough. Dr.Nair spoke to me like a child and would compare me to his 16 year old granddaughter and called me a "girl". There's no need to be like that, especially with a patient. He knew my age, but just because I look 16, it doesn't mean that I am. THEN he looks at my paperwork. He asks why I need an increase and I told him I was getting really dizzy and had the same feeling I'll get shortly before… a seizure. Dr.Nair said they were just "dizzy spells". I tried telling him that they aren't just dizzy spells, it's worse. But he INTERRUPTS me telling me how he's the one with the degree and how he went to medical school. He didn't even know what Qudexy was, he asked how to spell it then googled it in front of me. I tried telling him how it made me feel drugged up all the time and exhausted and it gave me depression and a whole bunch of stuff. He said it was weird because it is very very rare. I told him my doctor said most of her patients who have taken it had similar problems. He just repeated how it's so weird and that it's really rare. Every time I tried talking about it he wouldn't listen to me and he'd push it to the side like it wasn't an issue. I told him about the dizzy feeling again and mentioned how it happens in the shower with hot water, so I have to take cold showers. If I take hot showers it feels like i'm about to have a seizure. He said I haven't had one in a while so I don't need to worry about it and has nothing to do with epilepsy (even though I have had seizures in the shower, it's the hot water. When I overheat I have seizures) and that having it cold is a "preference". Yeah you're right, I do prefer not to have a seizure! He also basically told me that I was lying to him about having seizures by saying "IF they're seizures". He implied I was telling him how to do his job by saying he wouldn't tell me how to do my job. He also was telling me i'm really skinny and annoyed if I had blood work done. He says he was worried about anemia or other health problems. I'm not THAT skinny. He told me I don't know what i'm talking about because I haven't been on this earth that long (trying to make it as a joke) he wouldn't listen, he wasn't taking me seriously. I felt very disrespected and that my problems weren't important to him. He asked about my last seizure I had and when I was telling him, he cut me off saying he didn't want a story, he wanted to know what happened to my body during the seizure and how I felt when I woke up. I thought they liked to know what happened shortly prior to the seizure to try and figure out the trigger for it. Not him, her doesn't care about that. When I finished I told him it was unlike any of my other seizures and it was the only one I had like that. He didn't even care or want to know the other type of seizures I had. It was the worst appointment for any type of doctor I've ever had. And then when I was leaving he mentioned making an appointment next week. I told him that I don't get paid until the week after so we'll have to wait until then. Dr.Nair then says he didn't say anything about money...? I hope he knows my insurance doesn't cover 100% on a specialist!!! Do NOT go see Dr.Nair! I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. He will belittle you, not listen, interrupt and he won't believe what you tell him

Dr. Nair is an excellent diagnostician, striaght forward, direct, caring, and provides exemplary care and follow-up. I would recommend dr. S. Nair to family or friends with full confidence in my recommendation.
