Dr. Stephanie Lynn Chau, MD

Dr. Chau is rude, unprofessional, and lacks compassion. I'm dealing with severe chronic pain along the entire length of my spine. I sent a message asking for a full-spine MRI instead of just the lower back, which she denied. I also asked for non-narcotic pain relief options, and she suggested OTC painkillers, which I was obviously already taking. Because she's slow to respond to messages, I had to make a telephone appointment for the next day. She very reluctantly relented to my MRI request but angrily refused my request for high-contrast imaging. She was unable to provide a coherent reason, stating that it wouldn't be helpful, despite noting herself that 10% of upper-back MRIs reveal unusual symptoms. High-contrast imaging is minimally invasive and serious side effects are very rare, so there's no reason other than pride that I can see for denying it. We shouldn't have to fight with our doctors and endure rude, arrogant behavior to receive adequate treatment.
