Stephanie Lessig, MD

Dr. Lessig is knowledgeable, well informed in her area of expertise (in my case, movement disorders) and compassionate. She is everything that a neurologist should be. My only complaints regarding my treatment in her care relate to the overextended nature of the VA healthcare system and not to her specifically. I would recommend Dr. Lessig to anyone seeking relief from any condition lying within the purview of her specialty. She is a class act.

My appt was 2 months out. She only has 1 office not 4 for appt. I was referred by another Dr for her opinion. It took my husband and I, 1 hour to reach her office. We were on time at 10 am at about 10:05 I went into the exam room and waited and waited . I went out and saw`that it was 11:12 and I left.Never saw the idiot nor will I. There was a girl that helped me get out of the door because it wasn't easy with my walker.I told her why I was leaving she said "Would you like to reschedule " I said ," I think 1 hour is enough"I should have heeded the warnings of the 2 other reviews. This stupid Dr has no regards for her patients. I feel so sorry for anyone that thinks they are being helped by her. If you are reading this be very aware. best of all DON'T SEE`HER!!!!!

My mother saw this Dr. and was told she had a brain tumor. The Dr. offered no other conversation. She had a second MRI that showed she did not...her primary gave her that joyous news. Dr. Lessinq should have treated this 80 year old woman with human dignity. She could have explaned that follow up tests may find other results. She didn't speak at all! She walked in, said, "you have a brain tumor" and walked out. My mother was in shock, my brother was with her was slack jawed. I live out of stste and was not told until much later. There was a two week wait until she could get the contrast MRI. She suffered so much she felt like a dead woman walking. I spoke to people in her apt. bldg. A kind woman took my mother food. She dropped weight from her already thin build. She kept it a secret from me. After, the second MRI she had to wait to see her primary Dr. at UCSD and he told her she DID NOT HAVE A BRAIN TUMOR! Why someone didn't call her I will never know...This DR LESSIQ… IS BAD NEWS, SHE DOESN'T SPEAK TO HER PATTIENTS AND MIDIAGNOSIS! SHE IS A COLD PERSON AND INCOMPETENT DR. STAY AWAY!

After sinus problems my 80yrs of age aunt saw this Dr. A basic MRI was done, the Dr. walked in and said, "YOU HAVE A TUMOR". That's all. Really! Lucky for my aunt she had another contrast MRI. NO TUMOR. For two weeks she suffered, feared, wouldn't buy anything for her small humble apartment which she recently moved into...Dr. Lessig said nothing else to her, no reassurance and no sense of this could be a difficult area of the brain to image. No mention of blood tests etc. She walked in and pronounced a death sentence and left the room. There was a young male friend with her, to drive her...he described her mannors as cold and with no converstion. He also belived her tight jeans, high heel pumps, low cut clinging top, puffy beach girl hair-do and heavy make-up applied as if for camera to be VERY unprofessional. They nelieved she was trying too hard to be a "hottie". She was cold, inpersonal and unprofessional. We are grateful she was also WRONG! How my aunt suffered for two… weeks believing she had a brain tumor and this woman didn't take the time to speak to her or say it was difficult to say without futher tests! I can only wonder why her Dr. whom I believe is respected choose to send my dearest aunt to this non-verbal, cold, indifferent and NON-PROFESSIONAL very young incompetant doctor. This is TOO upsetting for any famliy to indure. STAY AWAY from her!
