Dr. Stephen Forest Clark, MD

My brother had a 6:30 am arrival time for a colonoscopy. We waited for 2 hours and ask what was happening and was told Dr. Clark had overslept ( Yes Overslept & He Is A Surgeon And Had Surgeries Scheduled & Patients waiting On Him) Some people walked out, My brother waited in that bed and his surgery didn't start till almost 10Am.. And been there since 6:30 Am. Never will we see Dr.Clark Again!

Dr. Clark seems to be alright, but could work on his beside manners.Example: Don't rush and ask your patient if you have any questions.The 1 star review goes to the unprofessional front office staff Mallory, Cathy that completes the FMLA paperwork, and I'm not sure of the other unprofessional lady at the sign in desk. When you have a patient with a new cancer diagnosis, you could atleast have some sort of compassion and not make sarcastic comments about him when he's sitting right in front of you. We're far from deaf!!! He's the nicest person and every single one of you showed lack of character and no compassion. It was visible that Cathy that did the FMLA ppwk did NOT want to do her job and even refused medical records, because she was making things difficult. If she hates working with the public that much, she's made a huge error in her career path. If you heard me call her rude, I said it!!! Don't sit concerned worried I was talking about you, you would know. And Diagnosis' should… not be yelled across the waiting area. My recommendation would too do a clean sweep with the front office staff!!!! I know times are hard and people don't want to work and people that do work don't want to be there, but I would highly recommend it. Laws are in place for reason and your office staff clearly needs training!!!!!

I had surgery and three weeks later was in worse shape than before. I called the office to discuss my issue and the nurse was rude and not compassionate at all. I have had nothing but WORSE PROBLEMS since my surgery with Dr. Clark. I have established with a much more caring physician and team at Vanderbilt. Do not waste your time here!!

When I had cancer, Dr. Clark was one of my doctors. He was the surgeon. But, he was the doctor that took the time to talk with me and discuss all the issues I was facing. Exactly what you would not expect from the surgeon on your health care team. He deeply cares for his patients. He is an excellent doctor in the best sense of the word.

Dr. Clark was rude to my 87 year-old father & my step-mom, who is four weeks out of chemo cancer therapy. Dr. Clark thought my father would be released on a Sunday, but Dr. Campbell, who covered for Clark, didn’t discharge him. Dr. Clark’s frustrations were released on my dad. Dr. Clark told my dad he was lazy & wanted to stay in bed - not true at all! He told my step-mom that she most certainly could take care of my dad, after being briefed on her cancer therapy. Rudeness in any profession is not acceptable. My family will not use Dr. Clark or this practice in the future.

I was diagnosed with rectal cancer in 2010. He immediately saw me the day I found out. He got me in with my oncologist and radiologist. He really got the ball rolling and he saved my life. He was honest and upfront of coarse I didn't want to hear what he was saying but it wasn't him it was the truth about what was happening and what would happen. His bedside manner has always been great. I thank Dr Clark, Dr McGee, and Dr Falkenburg and most of all Jesus Christ for saving my life.

I found him to have an excellent bedside manner, very caring and efficient, and would recommend him to anyone.

Worst surgical experience for my family. Would not recommend him at all. Office personal we dealt with was very rude and unsupportive for what we needed. I highly recommend another doctor. Worse bedside manner I have ever seen or heard of. Any body who doesn't believe in hope has no business being a doctor!

I enjoyed having Dr. Clark as my surgeon. He was professional and definitely knows how to set post-op expectations correctly and how to explain homecare. His nurse is extremely responsive and prompt in handling medication issues. The only negative I can think of is his appointment scheduling secretary seems a bit short but that is not any different from what I've experienced in Huntsville with other medical scheduling folks. As an aside, when I was in the hospital one of my nurses on the gastro wing said that if she ever had to have surgery she would choose Dr. Clark which is a recommendation you have to trust since the nurses see the results of the work of the surgeons everyday.

I too was very nervous about my condition. Dr. Clark was helpful and informative about what was going to happen. I decided to not go with surgery at first and try prescription topical treatment. He said that was fine but Iâ??d be back and he was right two months later I was back in his office. So I made it through the surgery. After my procedure I feel much better and think the decision to go with Dr. Clark and listen to his advice was the correct path. I would recommend him and his staff to everyone.
