Stephen Hegarty, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

I completed my undergraduate degree and physical therapy school at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. After obtaining my doctorate and license, I pursued specialized education through orthopedic residency training with Northwestern University and the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago, IL. This experience inspired me to strive for more than just specialization and pursue full expertise. I then completed fellowship training in advanced orthopedic practice, research, and education through Northwestern University. In addition to clinical practice, I am involved in teaching, mentorship, and research with Marquette University, Northwestern University, and the Froedtert Health Network.My treatment philosophy reflects the modern definition of orthopedic manual physical therapy. I use a systematic approach for the management of a broad spectrum of physical disorders. This includes patient-centered interviewing, planned and tailored physical exam, hands-on manual therapy, targeted …exercise prescription, and health coaching. The goal is to develop and maintain healthy lifestyles aligned with each patient's preferences, expectations, and medical conditions.
