Dr. Stephen Craig Marcum, MD

This guy is worthless and only cares about making money. He sent my labs to an out of network facility and I had to pay a HUGE bill. Unconscionable and criminal act against a patient. I am pretty sure he has a family member or someone he knows working at that lab and getting a kickback somehow. Pathetic way to treat patients. You go in for stress and end up more stressed due to him sending your labs to an out of network facility.

Do not consider using Dr Marcum. He did a routine colonoscopy on me and I almost died. He removed a large size polyp but did not clip it. Next day I was bleeding internally and rushed to Trauma center. Spent 4 days in ICU, bleeding out. I called dr marcum to let him know what was going on but no sense of urgency and didn’t seem to care. I highly recommend not using him.

I got sick while in the EU on business last week, had severe abdominal cramping and was defecating blood. I got on a last minute flight to return home. The day after I got home (Thurs), I called Dr. Marcum's office. I am a brand new patient and they scheduled me to see Dr. Marcum that afternoon.. Dr. Marcum stated that he believed I had ischemic colitis and stated that he could do a colonoscopy on me the next day (life saver). He was nice, listened to me and was candid (which I appreciate). Over the weekend, my heartburn got really bad and my medicine and food felt like it was getting stuck in my esophagus. I called Dr. Marcum on Monday and stated what was going on and that something was "not right" and I requested an EGD. He scheduled me for today (Wed) and, sure enough, found stomach issues. Despite my being a new patient, he did not discount how I was feeling and listened to me and actually did something to find out what was wrong in a very quick manner. I will continue to see Dr.… Marcum and trust him implicitly.

You need to watch this turd, he may be in your insurance network but when it comes time to send your tissue samples to a lab his people send it to an out of network provider this cost my wife and I an extra 300 dollars and in my belief his office then gets a kickback from that lab. Read all your paperwork before signing, they don't explain anything about what your signing they know most people don't read none of that stuff. Bottom line is you go to a in network provider everything affiliated with the procedure should stay in network without you having to ask. These people are thieves stay away from them, unless you just have tons of money pouring out that hole he's checking!

I have used this dr on several occasions and have always been pleased. He is competent and courteous. His staff is great. They are prompt with returning calls and answering questions.

Worst bedside manner I have ever experienced

he is an awful dr. He is not compassionate one bit and seems to only care about himself. He is so stuck on himself..... He brushes a person off like it's no big deal and just doesnt care. Don't waste ur time, go to a different doctor.
