Dr. Stephen Seth Marmer, MD

Dr. Marmer is full of wisdom, common sense and points out the problem of over-nurturing in today's society. His video on Prager U about resilience is prescient and should be viewed by all open-minded individuals concerned about how society is becoming overly offended at the drop of a hat.

The title should say it all. He does not believe in being nurtured and protected by parents but rather "toughening up". Please, refer to his videos with PragerU. HIGHLY do NOT recommend this man for any psychiatric care whatsoever.

Was recommended to Dr. Marmer after I survived several surgeries at Cedar Sinai. Tried to make an appointment. His assistant cheerfully called within a few days with 'several openings this week'. Explained I was hopeful to work out a pricing with Dr. Marmer given all the expenses I had incurred as a young woman battling cancer. Same assistant cheerfully said she was SURE the good doctor would make time to speak with me to work something out... I checked back twice and was again told how very busy he was and he would 'get back to me as soon as possible.' 3 1/2 weeks later and still no call - but had I had the $400.00 an hour to spend apparently there was plenty of time on his calendar. Everyone deserves to command the price they feel they deserve... but if you're in the mental health field - a successful Psychiatrist working with hurting souls - and someone referred to you asks for consideration that they may heal from traumatic surgery as client of said Psychiatrist... you hope at… the very least is that the successful Psychiatrist cares enough about the well-being of a referred human being to at least make 10 minutes to discuss options. Dr. Marmer made it clear that unless I had $400.00 for any one of his open appointments - he was not interested in my well-being nor healing. That seems somehow to speak volumes about how and why he cares for the patients who can afford his substantial fee. There have to be more compassionate souls out there to spend that kind of money on if a good Psychiatrist is what is needed...

My year-long experience with Dr. Marmer occurred several years ago. The passage of time has given me the perspective to accurately evaluate his professional services. Dr. Marmer has a tremendous body of knowledge based on decades as a practicing psychiatrist and a professor at UCLA. What really makes Dr. Marmer effective and extraordinary is his healthy dose of common sense that he brings to his healing methods. In combination with Dr. Marmer's grounded sense of purpose, the patient benefits enormously due to his wise counsel. He gave me the tools and roadmap to successfully move forward. And that is exactly what I have done. Dr. Marmer has earned my highest endorsement.
