Dr. Stephen Elmer Mikos JR., MD

Dr. Mikos is a fantastic doctor! He is extremely caring and always takes the time to explain procedures and test results in a way that is easy to understand. Dr. Mikos is the best and I would never consider going to anyone else (he’s been my doctor for 25 years). Love all of the staff in his office as well!

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Mikos for many years. He’s smart, direct, has a good sense of humor and is excellent about follow-up and referrals. Several years ago, his practice became associated with the MDVIP concierge medicine approach. I really like the “whole person” detailed physical and analysis we receive annually and I’d encourage MDVIP as a company to add more value to the patient by adding nutritional counseling, genetic testing and other advances in medical tools and technologies which would provide more benefit to the overall pricing package.

This is a rip off. I paid the fees for two years based on a promise of better care and more attention. All Mikos did was run more tests. My insurance company denied the tests and I was left out of pocket.The last appointment, I was left waiting over an hour in an exam room.

This practice is greedy they only want rich sick patients. Do not go there. I was a patient there and they kept trying to pawn me off on PAs. They would always bill insurance for a comprehensive doctor visit. Next, they went to this special concierge service and I had to pay $1500 a year out of pock just to see the doctor. Last time, all I needed was script refill but he ran a series of lab tests. Dr. Stephen Mikos told me this was part of his better care. My insurance company later told me they would not pay as he had run these same tests only 3 months ago and that these test should only be needed to be run every 12 months on a healthy person like me. I asked for a discount on the bill amount from Mikos. He charged me the full amount and refused to help offset the lack of insurance payment. When I went back again, he tried to run more blood test. I left and will never go back. There are MUCH better doctors in the immediate area without having to pay the $1500.

I just found out that I have been booted from his practice because he is going Concierge. I had been seeing his excellent PA, a choice pressed upon me by his receptionist when I attempted an initial booking with himu after moving to Roswell. All patients seeing this PA were"cut loose". I was not given any notice that this was happening or presented with any other options. I found out when my prescription was renewed and the label informed me I would need a new physician.Apparently a yearly retainer of $1500.00 is now needed to merit Dr. Mikos' attentions.I will be seeking new medical care from a more reliable practitioner.

Steven Mikos was a great doctor. But, now all he cares about is the money. He recently gave our personal information to a marketing company who have hounded use to join a membership. The primary purpose and privilege of the membership is to have access to the doctor, who will return your calls and emails and spend time with you to discuss your health. Isnt this what doctors are suppose to do anyway? We have been hounded for a $3,000+ each per year fee to join.

This MD is the best. I hate I moved he is very courteous and knowledgable. Get this guy on your team if you can.
