. I told the nurse and Dr, Phillips that I did not feel the numbing drops go into my eye. They ignored it, and proceeded. The outcome was, I had PAIN with my injection. These injections should never have pain. I would advise those in the Myrtle Beach area to go to Storm Eye Institute in Charleston. I tried to contact Dr. Phillips, however he did not contact me, after my adverse experience. This is his practice, however he did not even contact his patient after a very difficult and painful injection, that was supposed to be pain free. He simply allowed his staff to deal with it.

Staff is great, doctor is efficient and well qualified, but has absolutely no empathy for patients. I was trying to get care for my AMD while traveling back and forth from FL to SC. My good eye developed into the wet variety, called to see the doctor on an emergency basis, (I was on his patient list) and was told to wait and see my doctor in FL...he didn't want to treat me. The optometrist at Wal Mart referred me to another doctor in the area who saw me right away and treated my condition, saving me from possible vision loss in my only good eye. I would not recommend this doctor unless you are the type of person who doesn't have questions or doesn't wish to have any input into your treatment options.

My mother seen Dr. Phillips and he told her she was going blind. He had no feeling or care when he delivered this news. She has since seen another doctor which has offered her care and told her she was not going blind.

Friendly staff and average wait-time! Dr. Phillips is extrememly competent and accurate with his diagnosis and treatment. Highly recommend!

Dr "has no time to see you". Even after following his requirement to have referral from Wilmer Eye Institute Johns Hopkins Medical center, reporting long history of multiple retina detachments in both eyes, personal intervention by referring ophthalmologist No way to give a deserved rating of zero.

I was diagnosed with a detached retina bu=y another doctor late on Friday afternoon and that doctor referred me to Dr. Phillips who reviewed my case that night and saw me first thing Monday morning. I could not have been more impressed with the way he and his assistant Mimi treated me. I asked many questions about the surgery, recovery and possible outcoomes. Each question was answered honestly and patiently by Dr. Phillips. Now only a month post op my vision is nearing 100% restored. The initial prognosis was not good and I know without a doubt that the care I received by him is the reason I have my sight again.

Dr. Phillips and Mimi took care of me after being diagnosed with a detached retina. I was seen by someone else on Friday at 5:00 and was seen by Dr. Phillips first thing Monday with surgery done the SAME day. My vision is near 100% after one month. He is amazing! Kind, compassionate and professional.I have never been as impressed with any doctor as I have been with him.
