Dr. Stephen Edward Plotnick

Dispensing class 5 narcotics to a minor in place of his actual patient with no physical examination of said patients. He failed to treat my mother in accordance to the law he had her on 5 tab of 80mg oxycontin 5 times a day. My mother died from an overdose due to that mans negligence.

Dr. Plotnick was the very best doctor I've ever seen for my condition. I've been going to others now for 8 years and these others don't have a clue.

Dr. Plotnick treated me for several years, and he honestly helped in my fight against Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue and Myofascial pain. After he left the medical field, I have searched for years, trying to find a doctor in the area who could treat my illnesses...to no avail. My pain levels are terrible. No one has half the knowledge that Dr. Plotnick showed, or the compassion. He was a true asset and a fine gentleman. He is still sorely missed.

I never had a problem with Dr. Plotnick. He was good to me. (:

This Doctor takes too much time (if that is possible) explaining your medical problem and the reason why he gives you your medication and how much to take and if that is not clear enough...personal notes...in a language that any lay person can understand! Fibromyalgia is an extremely difficult ailment to control as everyone reacts differently to treatment. Patients must take responsibility for their own actions. Even at the pharmacy you are warned about the risks of taking certain drugs. It was unfortunate that the families did not notice a change in their family members behavior. My heart goes out to the families that have lost their loved ones. However I sincerely hope that Dr. Plotnick is found innocent of any wrong doing. Here is a thought .If Dr. Plotnick is such a terrible doctor why was his practice so large?

I have been a patient of Steven Plotnick for seven years and have nothing negative to say about him. The people who are causing trouble for him have relatives who passed away because they abused narcotics and no doctor in the world could have changed that. When you see Dr. Plotnick he is very thorough and even gives you pages of printed information specifice to you. If a patient cannot understand the instructions, they have an obligation to clear it up before they leave the office. I have read the documents the medical board has submitted and it is obvious that these individuals were drug abusers and this poor physician is the one who is gonna pay for treating them. No matter who teated those poor unfortunate few individuals that decided to overdose, it would have happened. I seen this so much. Many of these patients have psychiatric problems on top of being narcotic abusers. What really hurts is that many, many patients now have to suffer dearly (those of us who take our… medications as ordered to relieve real physical pain)because 2 or 3 others chose to ruin this poor man's career due to their negligence. Dr. Plotnick is a top notch doctor who teeters on being too concerned and certainly not the opposite.

I had seen over 20 doctors. Dr. Plotnick took the time and effort to listen and then diagnose the problem. I am much healthier today because of him and his staff.

Dr. Plotnick never ordered x-rays for me or any other type of testing. My complaints were joint and back pain. He dx'd fibromyalgia and myofacial pain syndrome although the doctor that referred me to him suggested that I have osteoarthritis. Since seeing a new pain doctor I have been prescribed an anti-inflammatory drug and am now almost pain-free! It feels like a miracle to me because I spent 4 years with Dr. Plotnick and was used to being heavily sedated with opioids, muscle relaxants, tranquilizers, anti-psychotics, anti-depressants, sleeping pills and anti-seizure medicines. All I know is that I am no longer taking any of those drugs and am taking just the one anti-inflammatory medicine. It makes me almost sick to realize I have lost the last 4 years of my life because Dr. Plotnick didn't even bother to find out what was really the matter with me. I know many of you reading this are furious that I am saying these things. I'm not saying that no one needs these medicines but I… didn't.

Dr. Plotnick took me in after I had a long bad run with another pain management doctor. I'd been way overmedicated, having severe headaches, daily visiting the E.R., for a Migraine shot, having trigger point injections, lidocaine infusions, and 160 mgs. of oxycontin 3 times daily. I had no quality of life, with young children that were also suffering without their Mom. Dr. P. reduced all that medication and gave me 1 non-narcotic nightly pill to aide with my headaches, and within days I became a human being again. He never has stuck a needle in me, and I never went back to the E.R. for another headache since my first visit with him 6 years ago. He knows what he's doing, I trust him completely. I have received top notch care in his office. These "charges" seem to stem from family members of patients who have sadly passed on. But these poor souls crossed the line and abused their medication privileges. Patients also have to take responsibility for their own health care. Dr. Plotnick… does everything he can for each one of us- except come home with us and distribute our medication himself. Then follow up personally by coming over daily to see if we are following the plan he put forth for us. We all have a partnership of trust here. He trusts us to follow the plan we lay out together in his office for the success of our own healthcare. We trust him to help put it out there for us, and provide us with the medicine to assist us. When is it time for the patient to take care of themselves? As soon as they leave the office, THAT'S WHEN!!! If you don't understand what's expected of you- such as taking your medicine as directed, instead of all at once, then do not walk out of the office until you understand everything.
