Truly terrible. Multiple hours of waiting for scheduled appointments. If you’re a female you are talked down to or over. Negligent and egotistical.

Excellent doctorâ?¦. Front desk check in staff a night mere. God help you if you offend them. If they like you, like myself, you will be called back immediately, checked in by the nurse (a neat person), and seen by the doctor within 10 minutes. On the other hand, if they take a dislike to you, like my husbandâ?¦you will have an appointment for one time. You have scheduled a day off , a couple weeks in advance, with work. You will then receive an automated call at 6 pm in the evening telling you to be there an hour earlier or later. You will check in at the front desk and then wait an hour past your time to be called back by the nurse. You will then be stuck in a back room and wait at least another hour as they put other people in queue ahead of you, until they are ready to go home, and you are the last patient seen. At that point, you cannot get your new appointment scheduled, your referrals done, or your prescriptions picked up. You will be told â?¦.every one else is gone… homeâ?¦sorry, spend time calling from work the next day to get themâ?¦and the next â?¦and the nextâ?¦while you wait a call back and your pharmacy faxes request after request. I love a doctor that takes him timeâ?¦instead of pushing as many patients through as he can to make a buck. This is an excellent doctor, when you can get through his staff to see him. However, after repeated visits, in the same ilk, the last a check up following major 2 ½ hour surgery, after waiting from 1:15 pm to 4:30 pm, in agony, my husband took me home to go back to bed.

I am not a patient of Dr. Cohenâ??s or ever will be because I question his knowledge and expertise when it comes to prescribing high blood pressure medication. After a few days of Dr. Cohen prescribing Hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic for high blood pressure, an elderly family member of mine ended up in the hospital with a very serious condition (hyponatremia) having started this medication. According to Livestrong.com â??Hyponatremia is a potentially life-threatening condition in which the sodium concentration in a person's blood drops dangerously low. It is one of the most common electrolyte imbalances, especially among the elderly. â?? Even Walgreens provides a caution for this medication, â??CAUTION IS ADVISED WHEN USING THIS MEDICINE IN THE ELDERLY because they may be more sensitive to its effects.â?? I am very concerned why no monitoring, discussion of possible side effects, or follow-up evaluation was ever conducted, which is recommended! The hospitalist and I along… with other family members question why this medication was prescribed in the first place, considering there are much safer choices available. Fortunately, my family members sought immediate medical attention when they realized serious side effects. We were not so fortunate to incur a costly hospital and medical bill. Thank goodness for a platform such as this to discuss overall satisfaction, they very well could save lives.

All of the family has been seeing Dr. Cohen for 6 years. Myself and my family members have been very happy with the care.

My wife, parents and children have been seeing Dr. Cohen for 15 years. He has gotten us through some difficult situations, is very caring and very thorough. I would never consider seeing anyone else.
