Dr. Steven Myles Portman, MD

I took my 6 month old t him..he was so rude. Acused my pediatrician of being a scammer because she felt my baby needed a head shaping helmet. He then without ever examining my baby started scheduling her for appt to have surgery. I was apauled at his filthy instruments. He was literally the worst Dr I have ever met. I am an RN and have met a lot of Dr. Beware

Both my son & I go to Dr. Portman for ADD/ADHD. He takes the time to listen to what's going on and then treats ACCORDINGLY. I found Dr. Portman on accident while trying to find a Dr. that accepts my insurance, truly a blessing. My son is doing amazing in school and will soon bring home his first Honor Roll report card & as for me I feel like a brand new person! We could not be happier. I highly recommend Dr. Portman if you are in need of a Dr. within his area of expertise.

My migraines were out of control and running my life. I went to 2 different neurologists and was given 4 or 5 different meds. Some did the job...but would take up to an hour to work and would leave me very tired or "fuzzy" Dr Portman gave me a very careful exam and then put me on both maintanance meds and something to use if a headache happened anyway. My headaches were cut more than in half and are much less severe when they did happen. The injection that I use when I do get a headache works in less that 10 minutes and I am left clear headed and well able to go about my day. Dr Portman never acts rushed, and seems to really listen to what I have to say, taking notes as I speak. I highly recommend him!

In the midst of a very disturbing health crisis, Dr. Portman took the time to truly listen to the events that lead to my husband's illness. Only after listening did he perform the most thorough neurological exam my husband had undergone in the month since his illness began. He was immediately able to prescribe an appropriate treatment plan while waiting for lab results and researching. Since the first visit he has been an active participant in my husband's care and has tailored his treatment plans to address emerging issues.Dr. Portman personally calls us with tests results and returns our phone calls promptly. While he does not hesitate to schedule office visits if he feels it is warranted by our description of symptoms and events, he also addresses issues by phone. His matter of fact and confident presentation of his medical findings and advice is reassuring. We have been very blessed by both his care and his compassion.

My son spent years of misery being branded as a "bad kid" and "dumb child". I went to several doctors and through multiple school evaluations, trying to get a diagnosis and help him out of the rut of anger and poor self-esteem. Dr. Portman spent almost two hours with us patiently and compassionately and explained his diagnosis of learning dysfunction from ADD. My son was placed on proper medications and is now an honor student. More importantly, he believes in himself. I would recommend this wonderful physician to anyone.
