Dr. Steven Zachary Powell, MD

Dr Powell began treating my husband for opiod dependence about 4 years ago. My husband has been sober ever since. He had seen many Dr's before Dr Powell, and was just treated like a number. Thanks to Dr Powell, and his amazing staff, my husband can wake up, face the day, and feel good about himself. He sees Dr Powell not only for his addiction, but also as his Primary Care Physician. I could probably write a book about all the ways Dr Powell goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable, and like you matter. I don't believe my husband would bbe alive today, if it weren't for his compassionate healing.

Great doctor, I'd recommend him to anyone .

He used to be a good doctor....... First off I'm not going to go into detail but...... Been having a particular problem for three months. So I thought Dr. Powell would be able to see what is going on....... He yelled at me and said there was nothing wrong and what did he want me to do? He couldn't get me out of the office fast enough. All I can say is your fire Dr. Powell I'll never use or see you again! ARC is a scam go see someone else.

Dr. Powell is a very, patient, thorough, concerned, pleasant, knowledgeable,doctor. The box above,"Title" needs to be explained better. Who's the average patient? Many are not college educated. Efficient communication is vital to the success of any new system. Even the patient survey on this system did not allow a comment area. There are many explanations to this word "Title". This shouldn't be a guessing game when people are too ill to think & suffering. ALSO, My Chart should have more characters, up to 7,000. It's intolerable to think that this nonurgent message should be communicated as if it's a text message. Can you imagine the difficulties that would arise trying to abbreviate medical terms & medications?AND when people are not well, they need more time to compose. It's difficult to explain in a nonspecific manner most medical situations.The program erases all that is painstakenly composed if you aren't fast enough. Many elderly & disabled do not have the motor skills nor… computer training to succeed. WRONG. People will decide its not compatible and the system will fail. I imagine alot of thought, effort & money has gone into this system. With shorter appointment times nowadays, the sick & elderly cannot communicate in such a expedient manner. Why would ARC invest in a system that is doomed to faliure? I'm a Customer Service Specialist, Quality Control Specialist & Production Designer & Engineer. It is not compatible as it is now. This is my first experience with ARC, I remember when you occupied offices off 34th st & Lamar. 1980's I have a problem with one staff person, a nurse. I've had several appointments, I have serious pain issues & am overweight. I have asked everytime for a large cuff for my blood pressure, the nurse showed up once with one & has ignored my request all other times. If this continues I will have to refuse, the amout of pain involved is driving my blood pressure up because of coping, I have been as polite as I'm gonna be about this. I have not said anything to Dr.Powell. yet. I'm impressed with the ease of checking in and the pleasant first impression. I hope to be a long standing patient with this clinic. I appreciate the quality of care so far.
