He graduated from UCLA Medical School in 1980 and completed his orthopedic residency and fellowship at UCSD School of Medicine in 1986. He is a husband of 26 years, father of four beautiful boys, is an avid road cyclist and outdoorsman, and a former college football player, who personally understands the aches and pains of the aging athlete.
